Fuzhou, 29 Oct (China News Service) -- Long Mingbiao, deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said on 29 October that the splitting of "Taiwan independence" is a dead end that cannot be followed, and the peaceful development of cross-strait relations is a broad road for safeguarding cross-strait peace, promoting common cross-strait development, and benefiting compatriots on both sides of the strait.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Ninth Straits Youth Festival, co-sponsored by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the All-China Youth Federation, and the Fujian Provincial People's Government, opened in Fuzhou. Long Mingbiao spoke at the opening ceremony by video.

In his speech, he pointed out that at present, cross-strait personnel exchanges are affected by the new crown epidemic, and the "Taiwan independence" provocations of the DPP authorities have led to an even more severe situation in the Taiwan Strait, and many young people in Taiwan are anxious and uneasy about this.

In this regard, Long Mingbiao made three views:

First, "Taiwan independence" separatism is the greatest threat to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, the biggest obstacle to the reunification of the motherland, and a serious hidden danger to national rejuvenation. In recent years, the DPP authorities have continuously promoted the "Taiwan independence" separatist activities of "de-Sinicization," created "green terror" on the island, obstructed and restricted Taiwan compatriots' participation in cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, suppressed forces advocating reunification, stepped up their collusion with external forces to act as "pawns" to curb China's development, and the adventurousness of attempting to "rely on the United States for independence" is on the rise, which is the root cause of tension in the Taiwan Strait. The recent public advocacy of the so-called "four insistences" by leading figures in the DPP authorities is a fool's dream of self-deception and has further exposed their nature of plotting "independence." Compatriots on both sides of the strait should be highly vigilant against the serious harm of "Taiwan independence" and separatism and the sinister intentions of the DPP authorities in trying to envelop the Taiwan people.

Second, the arrogance of the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces at present actually reflects their inner weakness and the impending mania of the end, and they cannot escape the fate of complete defeat. The broad masses of Taiwan compatriots must have the courage to struggle to resolutely defeat this force. Those national scum who have forgotten their ancestors, who have turned their backs on their ancestors, and who have divided the country will eventually be judged by history. Today's "Taiwan independence" diehards who are arrogant and evil will certainly be put on the criminal trial bench and nailed to the pillar of shame in history.

Third, the mainland of the motherland will always be the solid and reliable backing of all anti-"independence" forces on the island and promoting reunification. We have strong determination, firm will, and strong ability to resolutely overcome any major risks and challenges that may hinder the process of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, resolutely smash the "Taiwan independence" plot that undermines peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and harms the fundamental interests of compatriots on both sides of the strait, and never allow anyone or force to separate Taiwan from China at any time.

"The green mountains cannot be covered, after all, they are flowing in the east," Long Mingbiao said, hoping that the young people on both sides of the strait will join hands with one heart, unite and move forward, constantly enhance their ambition, backbone, and confidence in being Chinese, and play a strong cross-strait voice and write a magnificent chapter of the times in the historical process of promoting the complete reunification of the motherland and realizing the great rejuvenation of the nation.
