After the National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra and the Central Chinese Orchestra played a moving overture, the theme song "Rhododendron" that runs through the whole play sounded leisurely, the curtain opened at the climax, thunder and lightning were intertwined, Tian Yumei, played by Lei Jia, and seven Communist Party members were about to be executed, the drama tension was extremely strong, and a high-pitched and powerful aria "Returning the soul in the blood and the fire" vividly expressed Tian Yumei's revolutionary spirit of not stopping life and fighting endlessly. The seventh uncle of the medicine-picking old man played by Liao Changyong sang his witty, rough, loving and upright and amiable image of him with such songs as "loyalty and adultery since ancient times" and "I will pick up the great responsibility of heaven", presenting the audience with an old and strong, iron shoulder and moral enthusiasm.

In the sixth scene of the strongest drama conflict in the whole drama, Lei Jia fully showed her good performance skills, and in the face of different conflicts such as Gui Ying's sacrifice, covering up her comrades-in-arms, and taking her daughter to be heroic and righteous, her voice was sometimes affectionate and delicate, sometimes sonorous and powerful, comprehensively and three-dimensionally portraying Yumei's different feelings for her girlfriend, her daughter, her lover, and the party, and the layers were clear and full of appropriateness. In the nearly eight minutes of aria "Thousand Miles of Spring Colors Fill the Homeland", Lei Jia portrayed Tian Yumei's glorious image in the hearts of the audience with a rounded and dramatic tension performance, which made countless audiences in tears.
