Generations of people are endless...

In 215 AD, at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, in the Lingtai Dynasty of Gansu Province, a great figure destined to be famous in history and to be an ancestor was born--Emperor Fumian. This boy from a famous family, after his birth, was in the decline of the family road, lost his mother at an early age, and succeeded his uncle, in order to avoid war, at the age of fifteen, he moved with his uncle to Xin'an (now Yima), Henan. Perhaps due to the early death of his mother, the turbulent world, the emperor was greedy and wandering since childhood, and it was difficult to learn at the age of twenty. Until one time, he put the melon fruit he picked into the uncle Ren's family, and the Ren family did not have a trace of relief, but they exchanged tears and said an earth-shattering sentence: "The Filial Piety Sutra clouds 'the cultivation of the three animals, as if it is not filial piety'. Ru is more than twenty years old this year, his eyes are not religious, his heart is not in the Tao, why can he comfort me? Xi Meng's mother migrated to Chengren, and his great-father cooked to teach. I am not a neighbor, the teaching is lagging behind, and The Hellu is even more blunt! Self-cultivation and self-discipline, self-realization, and what is with me. ("Jin Shu HuangFu Mi Biography") "The uncle's teachings of spitting out his lungs and shaking his ears deeply hit the heart of Huang Fu Mi, and this young man with noble seeds in his soul was ashamed of his pain, that is, he worshiped the villager Xi Tan as a teacher and vowed to study, which was really "the old dragon king was sleeping on the beach, and a sentence woke up the dreamers", and from then on, this unknown young man embarked on a counterattacking life.

After the awakening of the Emperor Fumian and the previous judgment of the two people, determined to work hard, hands do not release the scroll, at the age of 26 has been broad to hundreds of families, the author of the "Imperial Century", he has no distraction, the hand does not release the volume, dedicated to the study, when people called "book prostitution". At the age of 42, he suffered from rheumatism, studied medicine, studied acupuncture, tried acupuncture with his body, and wrote a collection of acupuncture and moxibustion. After becoming famous, he avoided the edict seven times, insisted on being an independent scholar and folk doctor all his life, made unprecedented achievements in literature, history, medicine, and philosophy, and completed four great transcendences in his life.

Huang Fumian's "Four Major Contributions" and "Four Transcendences"

Four major contributions

Later generations unanimously believed that Huang Fumian was a generation of people who combined literature, history, medicine, and philosophy, and his research field was extensive and his achievements were rare in the world.

In terms of literature: he is the author of "Huangfu Mo Collection", "Xuan Yan Chunqiu", "Notes on the Ghost Valley", "Xuan Shou, Exhortation, Du Zhen Three Treatises", Gao Shi, Lienu and other biographies, "Three Capitals Endowment", and poetry [lěi] praise, sharp words, pearls of characters, rigorous structure, equal emphasis on literature and history, ideological, artistic, and historical, emphasizing the social and educational role of articles, and opening up a generation of literary style.

In terms of historiography: His literary and historical works "Imperial Century", "Almanac", "Gao Shi Biography", "Yi Shi Biography", "Lienu Biography", "Chronicle of the County", "Chronicle of the Capital City", etc., are widely absorbed and rigorous, pushing the beginning of prehistory to the "Three Emperors" era, especially supplementing and examining the lineage and major activities of the "Three Emperors and Five Emperors", making up for the lack of "History"; making up for the changes in the names of places in history and the changes in the names of places where a nation or dynasty has migrated; for the first time, the successive dynasties of land, The demographic situation has been more detailed statistics and analysis, and many valuable statistical data have been collated and preserved.

In terms of medicine: He compiled three famous medical works in ancient times, namely "Su Qing", "Acupuncture Sutra" (that is, "Lingshu") and "Mingtang", and made a comprehensive comparison, "deleting its floating words, removing its repetition, and discussing its essence", and combined with his own personal experience, compiled into a huge work that set the standard for acupuncture and moxibustion in later generations - "The Yellow Emperor's Three Acupuncture and Moxibustion A and B Classics", also known as "Acupuncture And Moxibustion A and B Classics", referred to as "Jia Yi Jing". On the basis of summarizing and absorbing the essence of classical medical works such as "Su Qing", "Acupuncture Sutra" and "Mingtang", the twelve-volume "Emperor Acupuncture and Moxibustion A and B Classic" has scientifically classified and sorted out the ancient Chinese acupuncture meridian acupuncture point theory, so that it has developed into a systematic science and erected a millennium monument in the field of medical life sciences. The book contains a total of 348 acupuncture point names, 212 more than the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic. The attribution and part of the acupuncture points were clarified, the names of the acupuncture points were unified, and the correct name and alias were distinguished. It summarizes the experience of hundreds of diseases and acupuncture treatment methods such as internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, and five senses, and makes in-depth discussions and theoretical expositions on the relationship between the five organs and the five senses, the relationship between the internal organs and the surface organs, the operation of jin liquid, the specimens of the disease, the virtual and real diarrhea, the corresponding nature and man, the yin and yang cooperation of the internal organs, the disease of wangser, the mental state, and the influence of music on the internal organs, laying the theoretical foundation of acupuncture disciplines, and making indelible contributions to the development of acupuncture and even the entire medical cause. This is the earliest existing acupuncture monograph in China that integrates theory with practice and has great value, and has always been listed as one of the classical medical books that must be read in medicine, "is the secret treasure of doctors". As a result, he is known as the "ancestor of acupuncture in Chinese medicine". After the publication of this book, the Tang Dynasty Medical Bureau began to set up an acupuncture department and made it a compulsory teaching material for doctors. Most of the acupuncture monographs after the Jin Dynasty were written on the basis of reference to this book, and none of them exceeded its scope. Until now, acupuncture therapy in China, although there are slight changes in the name of acupuncture points, in principle, they are based on it. For more than 1,600 years, it has provided acupuncture physicians with specific guidance and theoretical basis for clinical treatment. The book also spread abroad and was valued by various countries, especially Japan and North Korea. In 701 AD, the Japanese decree "Daiho Vinaya" clearly stipulated that the Acupuncture and Moxibustion A and B Sutra should be listed as one of the required reference books.

Philosophical: Huang Fumian did not leave special philosophical treatises and monographs, but from the large number of works he passed down, his philosophical ideas are clearly reflected, which are concentrated in: (1) the concept of life of one gas incarnation. He inherited the philosophical view of monism since the pre-Qin period, arguing that qi is the root of all life. He pointed out in the "Acupuncture and Moxibustion A and B Sutra": "The heaven is in our virtue, the earth is in our qi, and the moral flow is thin and born." (2) The dialectical view of yin and yang relative. Huang Fumian not only recognized that the natural world is material, but also saw that everything developed and changed in the contradiction between yin and yang, which promoted the rise and fall of all things and the evolution and progress of social history. He said in the "A and B Classics of the Five Viscera changes": "Therefore the yin and yang, the yin and yang, the always of all things, the smooth will be born, the opposite is dead", and also believes that the yin and yang are constantly transformed, and at the same time they restrict each other. (3) An open-minded and free view of life and death. He said in the "Theory of the End": "Mr. Xuan Yan thinks that the customization of the heavens and the earth of survival will be the result of human reason!" "The death of man is also scattered, the soul is everywhere, so the qi belongs to heaven; the life is finally exhausted, the poor body is against the truth, so the corpse is hidden on the ground." If god does not exist, it rises and falls with the qi; the corpse is soon sent and formed with the earth. And his final burial, his son also completely obeyed his father's will, and was buried in the simplest way in Zhang Aopoyuan, Dudian Town, Lingtai County, Gansu Province, completing his exhortation of "burying in the evening of death, burying at the end of the night, not setting up a coffin, not pestering, not repairing the bath, not making new clothes, and the things contained in the funeral, all of which are extinct", truly reaching the highest realm of "death returns to the truth, death does not damage life".

Four transcendences

Throughout The Life of Emperor Fumi, what makes posterity sincerely admire is his "four transcendences", he is also like us, an ordinary person with flesh and blood, bitterness and pleasure, love and pain, but he uses his persistence, his struggle, and his tenacity to play the most powerful and gorgeous movement of life, through the smoke of thousands of years of history, still clear and elegant, moving, and inspiring!

Huang Fumian's "Four Major Contributions" and "Four Transcendences"

From a wandering teenager to a full of academic celebrities. When Emperor Fu was a teenager, he was debauched and did not think about making progress, but after listening to the teachings of his uncle, he changed his past wrongs and read angrily. Because his family was poor and could not go to school to read, he borrowed books to recite and learned more and more. This was Huang Fumian's first transcendence, and the result of the transcendence was to change from a wandering teenager to a scholar who was rich in five cars, a university inquirer, and 25 kinds of literature, history and medical works in his lifetime. These achievements firmly established his historical position as a medical scientist, historian and writer.

From asagiri to yamano hermit. Emperor Fumian lived through three dynasties in his lifetime, born at the end of the Han Dynasty, grew up in Cao Wei, and died in the Western Jin Dynasty. Influenced by Confucian orthodoxy, in the face of Cao Wei's Dynasty Han Dynasty, Sima Shi's dictatorship and determination not to shi. Sima Zhao, the chancellor of the State of Wei, and Sima Yan, the emperor of The Jin Dynasty, summoned Emperor Fu to become officials in the dynasty seven times, all of whom used illness and old age as excuses, but borrowed a cart of books from Emperor Wu of Jin, and although they were sick and sick, they still studied hard and did not slacken off. The imperial court first asked and then urged and then pressed, but they could not shake his heart, and his high wind and bright festival and lifelong unshakable wind and bones were rare in the world. Truly reached the realm of the great husband advocated by Yasheng Mencius, "rich and noble cannot be adulterous, poor and lowly cannot be moved, and mighty cannot be bent". From here, we feel his beautiful spiritual world of tranquility and lofty ambitions, which is his second transcendence.

From the sick body to the originator of acupuncture. At the age of twenty-three, Emperor Fumi contracted wind paralysis. At the age of thirty-two, he had a stroke and was deaf for 100 days, began to study medicine, and had a preliminary contact with acupuncture. Thirty-five years old, taking "cold food scatter", under the influence of its side effects, the body suffered serious damage. At the age of forty-two, he relapsed with rheumatism and began to write the Acupuncture and Moxibustion A and B Sutra. He said to Emperor Wu of Jin: "Long baby Du is sick, unkind in the body, and his right foot is small, and there are nine years in ten years." He also took cold food and medicine, violated the degree of ecstasy, and was poisonous in this seven years. In the middle of winter, the ice is eaten naked, and when the department is bored, such as coughing, or typhoid fever, buoyanthea, and sore limbs. In this life, he is in trouble, save his breath, his father and brother see it, and his wife will rest for a long time. It can be seen that he is almost dying from the pain of illness. However, with his incomparably strong perseverance, he treated diseases alone, and immersed himself in the study of acupuncture, and he had great admiration for the ancient great physicians Bian Que, Hua Tuo, Zhang Zhongjing and other predecessors who could cure diseases and save people, and was determined to follow their example and complete the "Acupuncture and Moxibustion A and B Classic". At the age of 54, the rheumatism still did not get better, and he caused more serious diseases because of taking "cold stone scatter", resulting in sores all over the body, muscle ulceration, and almost ruined his life. He even wanted to commit suicide to come to this cruel life, but because the book "Acupuncture and Moxibustion A and B Sutra" had not yet been completed, he finally endured severe illness and completed this magnificent work with perseverance. This is really a teacher of suffering, a long illness into a doctor, only by feeling the body, deeply understand the suffering of patients, the rarity of good doctors, so he almost all his energy is spent on relieving the suffering of the people. This is his third transcendence, which is already a height that ordinary people cannot reach. The spirit of struggle of emperor Fu's disabled and determined spirit, the spirit of saving people from hanging pots and not being vain, and the spirit of dedication to being loyal to science and testing needles with his body will always be the lofty models of future generations of scholars.

From the limited small self to the vast big me. The highest standard of life of Chinese Confucians is the "three stands", that is, to make meritorious contributions to the country, to establish virtue for heaven and earth, and to make a speech for all generations. But judging from his refusal to join the army and his insistence on fame and fortune, he was actually a Taoist in his bones. Confucianism and Taoism are the two poles of Chinese thought, the sage morality that Confucians value and actively enter the world, is the meritorious achievement of life in the world, while the Taoist values the transcendent spirit of higher and broader contact with the spirit of heaven and earth. Confucianism makes people live actively and promisingly, Taoism makes people live in a realm, Confucianism requires people's social responsibility, and Taoism requires people to transcend at the level of life. Responsibility is caused by responsibility, and transcendence is the epiphany of life. Emperor Fumian's single-minded pursuit of learning, painstaking study of acupuncture, and saving people in the world are completely Confucian styles, and he is willing to keep poor and lowly, never to be a career, and far from fame and fortune, which is completely the Daoist realm of no demand. It can be said that in the realization of self-worth, Huang Fumi has completed the perfect transcendence from the limited ego to the vast ego, thus becoming a sage respected by Confucians, doctors, and Taoists, and becoming a spiritual symbol of worship by today's people.

Today, more than 1,700 years later, we stand in front of the tomb of Emperor Fumian in this hot land of Lingtai, holding the great work "Acupuncture and Moxibustion A and B Sutra" written by this medical philosopher with all his life, which not only has a thousand emotions! Thousands of years of ups and downs, the avenue of chinese medicine is hidden and unclear, acupuncture is rare, almost extinct, Chinese medicine talents are rare, can read the "Acupuncture A and B Sutra", understand its true path, such as rare horns. Even in the ancestral hometown of acupuncture, Lingtai, the inheritance of acupuncture is still facing a difficult situation of lack of succession and lack of successors. After the Outbreak of the Gengzi Epidemic, the world was helpless, China's ancient Traditional Chinese medicine was pushed to the forefront of the times, thriving in epidemic prevention, constantly creating miracles, the truth value of the idea of the unity of heaven and man was once again re-recognized by us, acupuncture therapy provided unique Chinese wisdom and Chinese medicine programs for human rehabilitation, and created a new green channel for life and health. At that time, we earnestly called for a large number of people with lofty ideals to stand up and regain the glory of the national medicine, to continue to study for the saints, to send well-being to the people, and to increase the peace and prosperity of the world!

May the Emperor Fu Medical Philosophy's Spiritual Forensic Path be able to know a lot in today's Lingtai, smoothly inherit and carry forward it, and benefit the people!

May the "Hometown of acupuncture and moxibustion and cultural charm Lingtai" be able to support the blessings of the originator of acupuncture in the new round of transformation and leapfrog development, and become a veritable source of acupuncture medicine and a blessed place of life and health!
