While Qian Xuesen was waiting for a reply, the United States sent someone to negotiate with Qian Xuesen. He said that Qian Xuesen's stay in the United States would give him a high salary and academic status, and said that China is relatively poor now, and he has no high salary to take when he goes back.
However, where do they understand the enthusiasm in Qian Xuesen's heart. When Qian Xuesen was trying to find a way to maneuver, the domestic reply letter came. The letter was written by Premier Zhou Enlai himself, who said that the party would do its utmost to bring him back to China in the shortest possible time. At the 1954 Geneva Convention Conference, our representative said that he would exchange detained scientists and international students with the United States, but the United States said no to Qian Xuesen on the list. In order to win over Qian Xuesen, China promised to exchange 11 American pilots who were captured by our country in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.
In this way, under such exchange conditions, Qian Xuesen returned to his hometown in early October 1955. Qian Xuesen returned to China, but the news that he alone can top five divisions is already well known, which also means that many people with ulterior motives want to harm Qian Xuesen.
