But Su Xiaosi has been gone for many years, not only has not returned, but there is no news to bring home.
Wen'an also has local business travelers who go south and north, and occasionally go to Gubeikou, and when they inquire in the local area, no one knows the news of Su Xiaosi. The Su family was poor and could not be found for a while.
After more than ten years, Wen'an encountered a long drought weather, there was no harvest in the field, and the Su family only had Su Xiaosi's parents and two old people, who were old and weak, and now there was no harvest in the field, so they had to go out to escape.
Thinking that his son had gone to Gubeikou, the old two discussed it and came to the outside of the mouth on crutches.
However, after old man Su and his wife came to Gubeikou with difficulty, while begging for food, they inquired about the whereabouts of their son by the way, but they did not get any news from Su Xiaosi for a long time.
One day, Old Man Su and his wife begged for a day, thinking about which roof to spend the night under. But in the wilderness, I couldn't find anyone for a while.
Seeing that the sun was setting, followed by the wind again, and the sky was also overcast, Old Man Su saw in the distance that there seemed to be lights in a valley, so the two old men supported each other and walked down the valley, hoping that someone with good intentions would take them in for one night.
Sure enough, there was a family under the valley, although it was also an earthen house thatch, but it was quite neatly packed.
The old woman went up and knocked on the door, and not long after, an old woman came out to open the door, and very happily let the two old men into the house, arranged food, and cleaned up a house for them to live in.
Old Man Su and his wife thanked each other for their kindness, and the old wives on the side asked where they came from, and when they learned that they had come to find their son, they casually asked for his son's name.
Not long after Old Man Su said Su Xiaosi's name, the door of the other room was pushed open, and a young woman came out of it, with a gorgeous appearance and the clothes on her body were also very valuable.
The woman walked up to Old Man Su and his wife, bent down and invited the two to sit on the upper seat, and also knelt down and prostrated, treating them with the courtesy of the elders, and urged the old woman to buy wine and food.
The attitude of Old Man Su to the woman was unclear, so they quickly stood up and asked why.
The young woman did not hide it, saying that she was a fox spirit, who had cultivated for a thousand years and had become a human form, and that She and Su Xiaosi met in the wilderness of Gubeikou, and the two fell in love with each other at first sight.
But I didn't expect that Xiao Si was too fond of himself, and later suffered from labor, and he had died two years ago. After my husband died, I was buried in this valley, and I also lived alone in this valley, I couldn't imagine seeing my in-laws tonight, so I asked the two elders to live here, and also let me retire to the end.
Old Man Su and his wife were a little scared at first, but then they thought that the two of them were helpless, even if the other party had any thoughts, they had nothing worth harming, so they let down their defenses, so they lived there ever since.
And the fox girl has been like a daughter-in-law to her in-laws since then, just like a daughter-in-law to her in-laws, and she has taken very good care of her in the morning and evening.
After six or seven years, Old Man Su and his wife had the most stable time in their lives, far more comfortable than when Su Xiaosi was born, and they loved this cheap daughter-in-law even more.
Suddenly, one day, the woman asked her wife to go to the market to buy a coffin and prepare a few pieces of folded clothes. Old Man Su and his wife somehow went to ask their daughter-in-law what was going on.
The fox girl did not hide from them, saying that she had been cultivating for many years, and in the past few years, she had served your second elder respectfully, and she had received the mercy of the heavens, and the Jade Emperor had ordered me to make an exception to let me ascend to the Immortal Realm, instead of having to continue to wait for the day when the cultivation of Neidan would be complete.
Now it is considered to be the completion of merit, and in three days, this skin bag will die. After I die, the second elder does not have to be sad, and I have my own arrangements for daily consumption.
Sure enough, three days later, the daughter-in-law really died, lying in the coffin herself, and after breathing, she turned into a black fox. The black fur was as dark and shiny as paint, but the body was very light, like a feather, and it made a sound like a golden stone when it was tapped with his hand. Old Man Su and his wife believed that she had really become an immortal.
After the fox girl was buried, one night to dream to Old Man Su, saying that he was now a fairy in the Bixia Palace, and asked the second elder to go to the foot of Mount Tai to live together, or to serve nearby, and this earthen house would be left to the locals.
Therefore, Old Man Su and his wife hired a cart and horse to take it to the foot of Mount Tai, and the fox girl had already prepared house utensils for them. Every day, I would come over and say hello and arrange food, as if I had never left.
After some years, Old Man Su and his wife died one after another, and the fox girl sent them back to Wen'an for burial, and they have not appeared since.
This story also tells people that whether they are human beings or goblins, filial piety to elders must be observed. The fox served his mother-in-law in the form of an animal, thus moving the heavens and ascending to the Immortal Path early. Isn't it better to be a man than a fox?
