The Introductory Tao Te Ching begins with Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching. Where is Lao Tzu's "Tao"? Lao Tzu's "Tao" is far away in the sky and close at hand

Since ancient times, we have Chinese, and we are good at borrowing the phenomenon of seeing to compare the invisible truths.
Borrowing "before and after the rain in the valley, planting melons and beans" is used as a metaphor for farming, which always proceeds with the time of day.
Borrowing "local materials and adapting to local conditions" is used as a metaphor to develop local characteristic industries in accordance with the characteristics of geographical advantages.
Borrow "planting melons to get melons, planting beans to get beans" to compare the causal relationship between the development of things.
Borrowing "peaks and valleys, peaks and valleys coexist" to compare a person's strengths and weaknesses are always accompanied, the more prominent the advantages, the more obvious the disadvantages.
Borrowing "flowing water does not rot, the household center does not beetle" to metaphorically our bodies should spit out the old and the new, and our thoughts should be new.
Borrowing the phenomenon of seeing to compare those invisible truths, referred to as "borrowing things metaphorically."
"Borrowing things to metaphorically" is the way to do learning. The sage Lao Tzu was a master in this regard.
Lao Tzu said, "The Tao, the Tao." To understand the original meaning of the Tao, we must start from the source of the Jia Jinwen. In the Jiajin text, the form of the word "Tao" is: road + man, and the meaning it passes to us is that people walk on the road in all directions.
Limited by the productive forces, most of the ancient roads were built along the naturally changing terrain, so people walking on such roads also rose and fell with the natural changes of the road.
The "Tao" in front of "Tao, Ke Dao" was borrowed by Lao Tzu to represent the "phenomenon of seeing and seeing", which is: walking on the road of natural change, that is, following the natural changes of the road.
The "Tao" at the back of "Tao, But Tao" was used by Lao Tzu as a metaphor for the "invisible truth", which is: just like walking along the path of natural change, everything must follow the principle of natural change. Lao Tzu's "Tao, Dao" uses the method of borrowing material metaphors to tell us the principle of the Tao, which is now called "truth".
Lao Tzu's "Tao" tells us that to do things, we must follow the "principle" of natural change, then:
This "principle" is used in calligraphy, which is calligraphy.
This "reason" is used in chess, which is the way of chess.
This "theory" is used in tea tasting, which is the tea ceremony.
This "principle" is used in fencing, which is kendo.
This "principle" is used in business, that is, the way of business.
This "principle" is used in learning, that is, the teacher's way. Wait a minute.
At this point, it is not difficult to see that Lao Tzu's "Tao" is far away in the sky and close at hand.
The rationale is that everything must follow the natural changes, and to do it according to this principle is to conform to the solar terms of agricultural work.
Planting according to local conditions.
The melon fruit is on the market.
Travel with the local customs.
The detective's shunto touches the melon.

Once upon a time, there were two southern merchants, each of whom brought a batch of umbrellas to the north to sell, which were of better quality and cheaper than the umbrellas from the north to the south. A month later, two businessmen met on their way home, one dejected and the other overjoyed.
"Looks like you sold all your umbrellas and made a lot of money, didn't you?" "Yeah, all sold." "It rains a lot in the north, how did you sell it?" "Quite simply, I changed the name of 'umbrella' to 'parasol'.
Obviously, the principle of following natural changes is not passive, not doing nothing, but doing it in a seasonal manner, doing it in accordance with the trend, doing it in a different place for people, and doing it naturally. Do what needs to be done at the right time, in the right place.
A well-known architect who designed and built a set of modern office areas, when the project was about to be completed, the construction staff asked him: "How is the sidewalk between this building laid?" The architect replied, "Plant all the grass in the open space between the buildings."
After the summer, the grass is lush, but several small roads have been stepped on by pedestrians coming and going between the buildings. Some of these paths are wider because there are more people walking, and some are narrower because there are fewer people walking.
Then the architect asked the construction crew to pave the sidewalk between the buildings along the path that people stepped on. These sidewalks have been widely praised after completion, because everyone thinks that these roads are smoother to walk!
We human beings have gone from revering nature to transforming nature, and from transforming nature to conforming to nature. Along the way, we have formed a consensus, that is, "nature is the best".
The smart thing to do is to transform nature.
The wise approach is to go with nature.
