The original large-scale vocal symphony suite "Ode to heroes" uses music as "pen and ink" to outline a distinct set of heroic characters.

On September 22 at the Jiangsu Grand Theatre and on September 23 at the Shanghai Symphony Concert Hall, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of music director Lin Daye, will join hands with the Lanzhou Concert Hall Choir, as well as singers and performing artists such as Zhang Liping, Shi Yijie, Song Qian, Liu Songhu, Wang Yunpeng, Zhu Huiling, Han Peng, and Li Renyi, to reproduce the magnificent spectrum of the party's century-old heroes.

In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the Propaganda Department of the Shenzhen Municipal Cpc Committee, the Propaganda Department of the Futian District Cpc Committee, and the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports presided over the planning, and specially invited Ye Xiaogang, chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association and composer, to compose "Ode to Heroes".

The work is divided into a prelude, four movements and an epilogue, in the long river of the century-old history of the party, 14 heroes are selected as the core musical image, relying on the poems they composed, the speeches they published or the literary works praising their heroic deeds, praising those Chinese communists who struggled for the independence and self-determination of the country, prosperity and strength.

"Write your story in the sky of history, and you can hear your voice through the ages..." The title music "Ode to Heroes", specially composed for this work, looks back on the century-old bondage and sings the voice of the times.

"The power of a hero is the power of faith." Nie Bing, director of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, said that the creation and rehearsal of "Ode to Heroes" has further deepened the orchestra's feelings for the party, and the orchestra will take faith as a beacon and always follow the party.
