On October 30, the 5th Haitang District Athletics Games for Primary and Secondary School Students, sponsored by the Haitang District Education Bureau, was successfully opened at Sanya School, a secondary school affiliated to Chinese Min University. The opening ceremony opened with the majestic sound of the national anthem, the representatives of the referees and athletes took a solemn oath, and the participating students of each school were full of vigor and high morale, fully demonstrating the good spiritual outlook of full vitality and hard work. After the opening meeting, the teams will leave the stadium in an orderly manner and play at the scheduled place according to the schedule.

This event is the largest, highest-standard and most widely participated student sports event in Haitang District in the past years. A total of 27 teams from 25 schools and nearly 350 athletes participated in the Games, who will compete in 38 events in 2 categories in the next 2 days. The competition is divided into two groups: primary school group and junior high school group. In terms of project arrangement, the Games set up three major types of competitions, including running, jumping and throwing, of which running events include 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 1500 meters, 4 * 100 meters relay, jumping projects include high jump, long jump, throwing projects including shot put, discus, javelin and so on.

In order to effectively do a good job in the normalization of the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic and ensure the safe and smooth progress of the Games, all the participants and staff of the Games have implemented self-health monitoring in the week before the games. At the same time, professional referees, medical staff and a large number of volunteers were organized and arranged to do a good job in refereeing, medical treatment and logistics support during the competition to escort the smooth progress of the Games.
