A Los Angeles man reportedly pleaded guilty to prosecutors who said he had indirectly supplied Mike Miller with oxycodone pills, leading to the death of rapper Mike Miller in 2018.

The TMZ website on Tuesday quoted court documents as reporting that Stephen Walter was one of three men charged in the September 2018 death of Miller overdose who pleaded guilty to a crime of distributing fentanyl.

Walter, 46, lives in Westwood, Los Angeles. In October 2019, Walter, 28, and Ryan Michael, 36, were indicted by a federal grand jury for conspiring to distribute the lethal drug to Miller. Prosecutors said the three gave Miller a counterfeit drug containing fentanyl, oxycodone, and three days later Miller was found dead from a drug overdose at his home in Los Angeles. Authorities said they also supplied Miller with cocaine and alprazolam.

An indictment shows Petit agreed to give Miller 10 "blues" (a street name that refers to oxycodone pills), but he allegedly sold Miller counterfeit drugs containing fentanyl. The synthetic opioid, which is 50 times more potent than heroin, also led to the death of music legend Prince. In April 2016, Prince died unexpectedly at his home in Minnesota and at the recording studio at the age of 57 from a drug overdose.

Prosecutors said Petit ordered fentanyl pills from Walter and Michael and then handed the drugs over to Mike Miller. Walter, who has reportedly received supervised release from a previous drug case, will face more than 20 years in prison and supervised release for life, as well as a $1 million fine, but prosecutors recommended he serve a 17-year sentence.
