Great dreams have become or are becoming reality

Xi Jinping: Looking back at the past, Dr. Sun Yat-sen's deep long-cherished wish to revitalize the Chinese nation, the beautiful vision of the pioneers of the Xinhai Revolution for the development of the Chinese nation, the great dream that the Chinese people dreamed of and struggled for in modern times have become or are becoming a reality, the Chinese nation has ushered in a great leap from standing up and getting rich to becoming strong, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has entered an irreversible historical process!

This passage is from a speech delivered by Xi Jinping on October 9, 2021, at a conference commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution.

After the Opium War in 1840, China gradually became a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society, the country was humiliated, the people were embarrassed, the civilization was dusted, the Chinese people and the Chinese nation suffered unprecedented disasters, and countless benevolent people and people made arduous explorations to save the people and survive. Since then, realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has become the greatest dream of the Chinese nation.

110 years ago, the revolutionaries represented by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the forerunner of China's democratic revolution, gathered under the banner of rejuvenating China, and through arduous efforts, contributed to the outbreak of the Xinhai Revolution, ended the absolute monarchy that had lasted for thousands of years in China, promoted Social Change in China, and explored the path for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

100 years ago, the Communist Party of China came into being, and as the most loyal inheritor of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary cause, it has always regarded seeking happiness for the Chinese people and seeking rejuvenation for the Chinese nation as its original intention and mission, united and led the people of all ethnic groups throughout the country to struggle heroically, won the victory of the new-democratic revolution, established New China, successfully created socialism with Chinese characteristics, promoted socialism with Chinese characteristics into a new era, enabled the cause of the party and the state to achieve historic changes, and ushered in a bright prospect for national rejuvenation.

Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, we have concentrated our efforts and successfully solved many difficult problems that we have wanted to solve for a long time but have not solved, accomplished many major things that we wanted to do in the past but failed to do, achieved the first centenary goal on schedule, built a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way on the land of China, historically solved the problem of absolute poverty, and achieved achievements in all aspects that have attracted worldwide attention. The Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is becoming a reality step by step, and we are more confident, more capable and closer to the goal of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation than at any time in history.
