Tsuyoshi Suda: It will take about ten years to play Heroes No More 4

There was only a gap of three years between Heroes No More 2 and Heroes No More, but Heroes No More 3 kept players waiting for more than a decade. In an interview, Tsuyoshi Suda said that Heroes No Longer 4 "may take about 10 years to wait."

The full interview with Tsuyoshi Suda is as follows:

Simply put, Marvelous owns 90% of the IP, so whether developer Grasshopper can make Heroes No More 4 is almost up to Marvelous. If I were to make Heroes No More 4, it would probably take about 10 years or so, both in real life and in the game story.

One of the primary themes of the series is a rock style theme. Many of Travis's stories mirror Rocky's story. So if Grasshopper makes Heroes No More 4, then what I want to do — and it doesn't have to happen — is basically to make the story a remake of Rocky 4, rocky versus Dalag.

In Heroes No More 4, Travis will be in the North against a supervillain who is basically The Dalag of the Heroes No More than a Hero 4 version. I'm not saying that's what the game is about, or that it's definitely going to be made. I mean if Grasshopper makes this game, that's what I want to do.

Travis is the protagonist of Heroes No More, but there are other impressive characters in the series. In the same interview, Tsuyoshi Suda talked about his interest in making spin-offs featuring the female ninja Shinotake.

Honestly, I've considered launching her spin-offs for Shinotake, and other characters have considered it, but it's mainly Shinobu. But Heroes No More isn't my own IP after all, Marvelous owns most of the rights to the IP, we only own a small part. So we can't handle these characters as we please, but everyone at Grasshopper really realizes the importance of Shinobu as a character, and she's even an idol in the hearts of some players.

In fact, her pairing with Travis seems to have become very popular. I've spent a lot of time and in various ways to further develop Shinobu's plot. I can't really confirm anything because of IP ownership, but I'm happy to develop a game for Shinotake that features her, and even have her appear in other games, such as a cameo role in an indie game.
