Di Mou and the three of them then went to the mysterious ghost city to find Wang Donkey. However, as soon as they met, Wang Donkey was attacked. Deng Chao
Di believes that the cause of Jia Yi's death must be ascertained in order to solve the case, and he suspects that Jia's death is likely to be related to some of his discoveries at work, so he orders Pei Dong to come to Jia Fu to look for intelligence. Pei found an important drawing in Jia Province, which contained key information about the case. Di met Li Xiao, the king of Langya, and took from him the weapon given by the former emperor, the Kang Long Gong, and was told that the former emperor was poisoned by Wu Hou. After Li Xiao returned to the palace, he was assassinated by a poisoned cold arrow.
Shangguan Jing'er informed Empress Wu that Di had found out about Guoshi, and when she heard about it, Empress Wu was furious. And Di also wanted to ask Empress Wu to her face whether she had killed the former emperor. Di Renjie broke into the Wuji Temple alone, and after several battles, revealed the true face of the Guoshi- Shangguan Jing'er, who pretended to be a Guoshi at the behest of Empress Wu, with the intention of providing convenience for Empress Wu to take the throne and eliminate dissidents. Di told Jing Er that in the future, Empress Wu would definitely get rid of her. Di Renjie found where Pei Dong had come, but Pei had been captured by the enemy. When Di opened the door, he touched the mechanism, and Pei Yi spontaneously combusted and died tragically, leaving an important clue before dying- the horse reins. Di thus found important information from Pei's mount, thus uncovering the truth.
