On October 27, local time, US Secretary of State Blinken officially announced the establishment of a new network department in the State Department to help solve the us network and emerging technology diplomacy problems.

Blinken named the new cyber division the Bureau for Cyberspace and Digital Policy, which will deal with cyber threats, global Internet freedom, surveillance risks, and work with allies to develop international norms and standards for emerging technologies.
Blinken said the creation of the Cyberspace and Digital Policy Bureau was one of the measures to help modernize the State Department. The State Department will also ask Congress to increase the budget for the State Department's cyber division by 50 percent, prioritize the diversity of the U.S. workforce, strengthen U.S. diplomacy, and learn from the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.
