On February 26th, Kitaro, the world's premier music master and representative figure of Oriental New Age music, appeared at the Beijing Delta Art Center to participate in the "Kitaro Music Tour and China Tour Launch" activity. In 2019, Kitaro will come to China with the "Ancient Events and the Universe" concert, which is Kitaro's first solo tour in China. He said he missed China very much and was looking forward to bringing performances to Chinese audiences again.
The first concert will kick off in Xi'an on May 1st. It will then come to Wuhan on May 5, Shanghai on May 11, Guangzhou and Hangzhou on May 17 and 19, and Beijing on May 25. Kitaro said that the choice of these six cities is very intentional – not only closely integrated with the "Silk Road", but also a city that he himself loves and has left memories. And for Master Xi, who has always insisted that "Chinese culture is the root of Japanese culture", it is also very suitable.

In this concert called "Ancient Events and the Universe", Kitaro cleverly integrates a number of classic songs into it, expressing his thinking about culture and his vision of the universe. In the early stage of the event, the teachers from the Rooftop International Children's Choir contacted the organizers, hoping that on the day of the event, the children could send a special gift to Master Xi with their songs, so as to express the love of the young fans for the master. The children paid tribute to the master with a song "Impression of West Lake Rain", and this song is a classic song composed by Kitaro and sung by Zhang Liangying. In 2010, the album that included the song was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best New Age Music Album. This special "gift" of the children became the first small climax of the activity, which not only won the applause of the guests present, but also received the high praise of Master Xi. Finally, Master Xi happily took a group photo with the children. Master Xi said that the inheritance of music is indispensable to the development of the times, and hopes to see more young people in the future on the road of chasing music.
