One morning in November 1971, a foreign journalist left behind a memorable and memorable photograph under the shutter. Only to see the photo, a man with a neatly combed back, wearing black glasses, dressed in a flat Zhongshan suit laughed at the United Nations venue, and many foreigners present threw special glances at him, "oh my god" rippled in his heart.

This laugh is an epoch-making laugh, which means that the People's Republic of China has been restored after being deprived of its seat in the United Nations and the Security Council for more than 20 years; it expresses a major achievement of the People's Republic of China in international diplomacy; it shows the pride and joy of the Chinese people to return to the international community against all odds. He laughed, and so did the people of the whole country!
Looking back at this historic moment, this man who looked up to the sky and laughed was not a simple ordinary person, chairman Mao Zedong praised him a lot, once called him: "two tank divisions at the top of the text", he is Qiao Guanhua. You may be unfamiliar with this name, but if you savor Qiao Guanhua's life legend, you will be impressed by his extraordinary achievements and throw thousands of admiration at him.
Metamorphosis into a strongman starts with reading
Recalling the era when each of us read books, I believe that many people have received the advice of their parents - "reading is the only way out". Looking back now, it is indeed right, and Qiao Guanhua, who happened to be a child, thought exactly like this, and a strong man in the underworld was destined to turn out.
Northern Jiangsu, the rivers are longitudinal, the culture is prosperous, and since ancient times, celebrities have emerged. Qiao Guanhua was in such a place of great talent, receiving the cultivation of the Age of Enlightenment. At the beginning of the 20th century, After the end of the Xinhai Revolution, China was in ruins and waiting to be revived, and the people lived in the depths of the waters. In such an era, Qiao Guanhua was born in an ordinary family, mottled old houses, narrow spaces, Qiao Guanhua gradually grew up in such an environment. Perhaps it was such a very poor environment that made him more enjoyable reading.
Reading makes people wise, and Qiao Guanhua has absorbed all kinds of new ideas and new insights in the books, which has given him the goal of saving the country and the people, overthrowing feudalism and overthrowing the imperial powers. To this end, he participated in the student movement many times, shouting and tossing and turning in the street. Such a "trouble-loving" student made the school very disgusted, and Qiao Guanhua was expelled from the school three times and had no books to read. Because of his expulsion, Qiao Guanhua was entrusted by his father to enter the Nanjing Zhongnan School with higher teaching quality, where Qiao Guanhua showed his talent for reading and was admitted to the department of Chinese of Tsinghua University at the age of 16.
Qiao Guanhua loves to read, and his list of interests always contains many works on Marx's thought and theory. Reading these works day by day made him a staunch Marxist at a young age, embracing the great ambitions of Marxism. Later, he studied abroad, and in the process of studying abroad, he further explored Marxist thought and philosophy, dreaming of saving China with Marxist theory.
The strongman's weapon lies in writing
Reading tens of thousands of volumes, writing like a god, rich book knowledge precipitation, so that Qiao Guanhua has an extremely excellent writing, and the experience of learning philosophy also makes him logical and insightful in the article.
Lu Xun once said: "Studying medicine cannot save Chinese", and then threw pen from Rong. Similar to Lu Xun, Qiao Guanhua also began a journey to save the country with his writing after returning to China in 1938. After returning to China, he served as the chief writer of the "Evening News of Current Affairs" in Hong Kong, and wrote editorials under the pseudonym "Arbor". At a time when the situation at home and abroad was grim, Qiao Guanhua systematically analyzed various current events at home and abroad with his handsome writing and thorough insights, and his insightful comments made his reputation popular in Hong Kong.
Qiao Guanhua was a staunch Marxist, which made him coincide with the Chinese Communist Party at that time. In 1939, an application to join the party came to Yan'an, and Mao Zedong was overjoyed to see this application from Qiao Guanhua. Having read Qiao Guanhua's article many times, he had long admired Qiao Guanhua, saying: "Have you read an article written by a tree in Hong Kong?" The articles he wrote are good, analytical, courageous, and the articles are like thousands of troops, and I read an article he wrote that is equivalent to two tank divisions!" In this way, Both Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai were very sure of Qiao Guanhua's application to join the Party, and Qiao Guanhua became a member of the Chinese Communist Party.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Qiao Guanhua served as deputy director of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and director of the International Information Bureau. In order to fulfill the primary task of China's diplomacy, Qiao Guanhua has participated in major international conferences such as the Panmunjom Korean Armistice Negotiations and the Geneva Conference on many occasions, and has often drafted important diplomatic documents, such as Zhou Enlai's letter to the leaders of Asian and African countries on the Sino-Indian boundary issue in November 1962, and Mao Zedong's may-second statement drafted by Naming Qiao Guanhua in 1970.
A smile to solve a thousand sorrows
Because of the long-term obstruction of the United States, my country has not been able to restore its legitimate seat in the United Nations, so the whole country is working hard to fight for it, and as a diplomat, the burden on my shoulders is even heavier. In 1971, when China finally restored its legitimate rights and interests in the United Nations Organization, Qiao Guanhua was personally named and appointed by Chairman Mao Zedong as the head of the delegation of the 26th Session of the Un-General Assembly, leading the delegation to attend the current session of the Un-General Assembly. Qiao Guanhua, with his profound knowledge, lofty posture, keen thinking and eloquence, fought with the delegates, answered the reporters' questions wisely, and demonstrated China's great power style and will.
On November 15, 1971, Qiao Guanhua and the Chinese diplomatic delegation sat on a seat marked CHINA, which attracted the world's attention. The reporter asked: "Mr. Joe, how do you feel sitting here?" As soon as the words fell, Qiao Guanhua looked up at the sky and laughed, and this laughter was recorded by the camera and became a big moment for the people of the world to talk about. Yang Tian's laughter has already answered the reporter's question; it is the joy of piercing the darkness, a resounding slap in the face to the opposition led by the United States, and a sense of raising an eyebrow and exhaling is about to come out, throwing a great sorrow of the entire Chinese people out of the cloud of nine clouds. I believe that after the reporters at that time saw Qiao Guanhua laughing, they would suspect that they were asking a stupid question.
On September 22, 1983, Qiao Guanhua passed away in Beijing. Looking back on his life, he changed his destiny with knowledge, saved his life with his thoughts, and repaid the motherland with actions. For the cause of the motherland, Qiao Guanhua dedicated his life's strength. Maybe today you only know half of him, but the laughter he left behind will be remembered by the people of Chinese and the world, and his strength and the strength of the country will be accompanied by that laughter and will last forever in the world.
