On August 24, Pham Minh Thien Thien, member of the Political Bureau of the CPV Central Committee and prime minister of the government, met with Ambassador Xiong Bo at the Prime Minister's Office, including Minister Xi Hui of the Embassy in Vietnam, Hu Suo kin, Economic and Commercial Counsellor, and Chen Hong, Political Counsellor, Vice Foreign Minister of Vietnam, Gao Guoxing, Vice Minister of Industry and Trade, Tan Van Shun, Vice Minister of Health, Nguyen Thiet Kyi, Deputy Director of the General Office of the Government, Tran Quoc Phan Kwok Phuong, Vice Minister of Planning and Investment, and Feng Tak Jin, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Xiong Bo said that this year marks the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and China has successfully achieved the grand goal of building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way and started a new journey of comprehensively building a socialist modern power. On the basis of comprehensively summarizing the 35 years of experience in innovation, the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam formulated the two centenary goals for the establishment of the Party and the State of Vietnam, and clarified the future development direction. The socialist causes of China and Vietnam stand at a new historical starting point. Since the beginning of the year, General Secretary Xi Jinping and the President of the People's Republic of China have had telephone conversations with General Secretary Nguyen Phuoc and President Nguyen Xuan Phuc respectively, and the principal leading comrades of the two countries have successively carried out good interactions, stressing the need to support each other in making a good start in the new journey of socialist cause, and making comprehensive plans for the development of relations between the two parties and two countries in the coming period. The leaders of the two parties and two countries have reached a high degree of political consensus on consolidating political mutual trust and developing Sino-Vietnamese friendship, which is the fundamental political guarantee and special political advantage for the healthy and stable development of Sino-Vietnamese relations. China and Vietnam have the same political system, common ideals and convictions, and similar development paths, and are a community of common destiny of strategic significance. The Chinese side is willing to make joint efforts with the Vietnamese side, adhere to the high-level strategic guidance, not forget the original intention of the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam, keep firmly in mind the ideals and beliefs and historical missions shared by the common, and constantly give new connotations to the comprehensive strategic cooperation between China and Vietnam, so as to inject new impetus into the relations between the two parties and two countries and the development of the socialist cause of the two countries.
Xiong Bo pointed out that strengthening anti-epidemic cooperation is a priority for China-Vietnam relations at present. The Chinese side is highly concerned about the epidemic situation in Vietnam, shares the difficulties faced by the Vietnamese side, and is willing to provide assistance to the Vietnamese side in fighting the epidemic within its capacity. It is believed that under the strong leadership of the Vietnamese party and government, the Vietnamese people will be able to defeat the epidemic at an early date. At the request of the Vietnamese side, a batch of COVID-19 vaccines aided by the Chinese People's Liberation Army to the Vietnamese army arrived in Hanoi on August 23, and the Chinese government decided to provide another batch of vaccines to the Vietnamese government, believing that this will play a positive role in safeguarding the health and safety of the two peoples, strengthening joint prevention and control in border areas, and ensuring the stability of the industrial chain supply chain between China and Vietnam. It is hoped that the Vietnamese side will continue to facilitate the vaccination of Chinese citizens in Viet Nam, especially in the provinces and cities in the south where the epidemic is severe, as soon as possible. China supports enterprises of the two countries to strengthen docking and cooperation on COVID-19 vaccines, therapeutic drug procurement and cooperative production.
Xiong Bo said that maintaining strategic communication is a fine tradition of the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership. The two sides should strengthen coordination and cooperation in multilateral affairs, jointly safeguard the international system with the United Nations at its core, safeguard multilateralism, and safeguard the independence, autonomy, and equal development rights of developing countries. At present, the epidemic is still raging around the world, and it is the top priority of the international community to unite against the epidemic and save lives. The issue of traceability of the new crown virus is a scientific issue, and the joint investigation report officially released by THE WHO should be fully respected and implemented, and manipulating the politicization of virus traceability will only interfere with the global anti-epidemic efforts and harm the common interests of the international community, including Vietnam. All parties should resolutely oppose the politicization of the issue of traceability, adhere to scientific traceability, and maintain a good atmosphere of global solidarity against the epidemic.
Fan Mingzheng warmly congratulated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and China's victory in achieving the first centenary goal, and expressed his belief that under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, the Chinese people will surely successfully achieve the second centenary goal and build a socialist modern power as scheduled.
Pham Minh Cheng said that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China "comrades and brothers" was personally created and carefully cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong and other leaders of the older generation, and is a precious wealth shared by both sides. The Vietnamese side will always bear in mind China's valuable support and selfless assistance to the cause of national liberation and socialist construction in Vietnam. The Vietnamese side attaches great importance to developing relations with China, which is a strategic choice and a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy. At present, the reform and innovation undertakings of the two countries are at a critical stage, and a healthy and stable development of Vietnam-China relations plays an important and decisive role in promoting the respective socialist causes of the two countries, and is also conducive to safeguarding peace, stability and development in the region and even the world.
Pham Ming Zheng said that since the beginning of this year, the leaders of the two parties and two countries have maintained strategic communication, which has pointed out the direction for the development of relations between the two parties and two countries in Vietnam and China in the coming period. Vietnam is willing to work with China to implement the high-level consensus, continue to strengthen high-level exchanges in a flexible manner, and continuously consolidate political mutual trust. Give full play to the overall coordination role of the Vietnam-China Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee, deepen cooperation in the fields of inter-party, foreign affairs, national defense, public security, and localities, strengthen the exchange of experience in governing the party and government, jointly safeguard the party's leadership and socialist system, and guard against the "peaceful evolution" of hostile forces and their attempts to sow discord.
Fan Mingzheng spoke highly of China's anti-epidemic achievements and stressed that anti-epidemic cooperation is a priority area for practical cooperation between the two countries. The key to defeating the epidemic is to get vaccinated as soon as possible, and the vaccine that can be vaccinated as soon as possible is the best vaccine. The Vietnamese side will make good use of the above vaccine services to fight the epidemic and continue to facilitate the vaccination of Chinese citizens in Vietnam. At present, the global epidemic is still spreading, and the international community should strengthen solidarity and cooperation and work together to fight the epidemic, which is the only correct choice to defeat the epidemic. The Vietnamese side has always advocated scientific traceability and opposed the politicization of the epidemic and the traceability of the virus.
