The Wanshou temple bus station has platforms on the main road and auxiliary road of the West Third Ring Road, and passengers can use the zebra crossing and traffic lights on the auxiliary road to travel to and from the platform between the main and auxiliary roads. However, about 500 meters away from the north and south sides of the bus platform, there is a crossover overpass across the main road of the third ring road, and passengers often need to go south or north to make a large circle if they need to go to the opposite side of the third ring road after getting off the bus.

Surrounding residents said they were often reluctant to go shopping on the other side of the Third Ring Road. During the peak hours of the day, few people cross the road, and auxiliary vehicles still need to wait for signal lights, which is also prone to congestion. At night, the subway station entrance is closed, and passengers who take the night 30 home can only detour around the overpass on both sides.

Beijing Urban Express Rail Construction Management Co., Ltd. said that the main structure of Wanshousi Station of Metro Line 16 conflicts with the position of the main girder pile foundation of the overpass, and the two entrance structures of the subway station C and D conflict with the location of the overpass ladder. With the approval of the Municipal Transportation Commission, the flyover was demolished on February 15, 2015.

Beijing City Rapid Rail Construction Management Co., Ltd. said that at the end of last year, the Wanshousi subway station was put into operation, because the original location of the overpass was occupied by the subway entrance and exit, and there was no condition for in-situ reconstruction. According to the rehabilitation plan, the overpass needs to be moved about 30 meters north. After on-site investigation and program research, there are many pipelines such as heat, electricity, rainwater, gas, and tap water under the reconstruction site of the overpass, and the construction of the overpass also involves the coordination and adjustment of facilities such as bus station relocation, road channelization, and garden land, which is difficult to implement. At present, the fast rail company is actively communicating with the Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission and relevant pipeline property rights units, coordinating and studying the pipeline relocation protection plan, and accelerating the restoration of the overpass.
Some citizens frankly said that from the demolition of the overpass in early 2015 to the use of the Wanshousi subway station at the end of last year, they could only go around and cross the Third Ring Road in six years, which was indeed very inconvenient. However, after all, the overpass was demolished for the purpose of building a subway station, which is understandable. However, after the subway station is completed and put into use, the overpass that was originally demolished should also be rebuilt as soon as possible to provide convenient crossing facilities for surrounding residents. It is hoped that the relevant departments will study the pipeline relocation plan as soon as possible and rebuild the overpass so that the surrounding residents will no longer have to worry about crossing the Third Ring Road.
