It has been a week since the border defense line returned, and the female soldier Qiu Yaoxuan is still fluctuating. As a grassroots party history preacher at the Shannan Military Subdistrict in Tibet, she found that listening to the stories of her border defense comrades-in-arms was far more touching than the speeches she had prepared.
Qingshan is buried with loyal bones everywhere. In front of the tomb of the ancient nu martyrs, Qiu Yaoxuan seemed to see the young figure who heroically sacrificed himself to save his comrades-in-arms from flying stones on the way to patrol; at the outpost of the nameless lake at an altitude of 4520 meters, she seemed to hear the footsteps of the model regiment leader Gao Mingcheng on the snow patrol...
These days, the names of heroes and touching stories have always haunted Qiu Yaoxuan's mind. Over the past 70 years, in order to defend and build Tibet, countless border defense officers and soldiers have gone forward to succeed each other and left their youth and even their lives on the snowy plateau. In the Shannan Martyrs' Cemetery alone, there are more than 600 martyrs buried.
"The sky is high and the earth is thick, and the hero is always there." This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the 70th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet. The centenary journey has been a blue thread, and the military and the people have been working toward the party for seventy years. Studying the heroic deeds of the martyrs made Qiu Yaoxuan feel that it was not so much that he went to the border defense frontline post to carry out party history propaganda, but rather that he received an education that shocked his soul.
Takahara testified, shedding blood at the expense of ordinary things
Not long ago, at the exhibition of the deeds of the "100 people and 100 things" of the Shannan Military Subdistrict, the names of martyrs such as Gu Nu, Gao Mingcheng, and Zhang Guirong were prominently listed.
The attentive Qiu Yaoxuan found that the ancient nu martyrs were 19 years old when they died heroically, gao Mingcheng, the model regimental commander, was 39 years old when he was buried in the snowy mountains, and Zhang Guirong, the former commander of the Tibet Military Region, was 49 years old when he died in the line of duty. Behind the figures of several age groups is the shocking sacrifice and dedication of the border guards.
July 15 this year is the first anniversary of the martyr SuWanfei. These nights, Su Jianglong, the sentry of the Gibb post, lies in bed and tosses and turns. Several times, he opened the WeChat dialog box with Su Wanfei, and typed a few words with trembling hands: "Wanfei platoon leader, it has been a year..." However, he did not click to send, and silently deleted it.
In his spare time, the song "The Motherland Will Not Forget" sounded in the mobile phone of the senior soldier Zhongzhaoguo: "In the vast sea of people, which one am I, in the rushing waves, which one am I..." Listening to it, Zhongzhaoguo unconsciously burst into tears in his eyes.
The past is not like smoke. On July 15 last year, for the officers and men of the whole company, it was unforgettable: on that day, platoon commander Su Wanfei fell off a cliff and died. A month later, Su Wanfei was approved as a martyr by the Tibet Military Region.
Tucked away in the dense forests of the cliffs, the Djibout post is one of the few posts in the Tibet Military Region that is not accessible by road. The bags of rice and baskets of vegetables in the outpost used to be carried by the officers and men on their shoulders. In July 2019, the outpost opened a ropeway, ending the history of the sentry officers and soldiers "backing the mountain".
That day, everything was business as usual, except that the wind was blowing harder than usual, and the large iron barrel on the ropeway loaded with observation equipment shook violently during the climb. Su Wanfei led the soldier Zhongzhao Guo to the "receiving" platform.
"The iron barrel is shaking badly, will it fall?" Su Wanfei was worried, and he ordered Zhongzhao guo to retreat. When the iron barrel reached the gantry, it suddenly intensified the shaking, SuWanfei saw that the situation was not good, grabbed it, and did not expect the steel rope to fall off the pulley groove, and the huge force took him off the cliff in an instant. Zhongzhao Guo behind him had not yet returned to his senses, Su Wanfei had disappeared, but the observation equipment on the side was safe and sound.
"Platoon leader, platoon leader..." Zhongzhao Guo shouted with all his might.
The most difficult to let go of was the instructor Yang Zuofei at the time. On the morning of New Year's Day 2020, Ouyang Ye, the sentinel of the Gibb post, closed his eyes forever because he suffered from explosive myocarditis and had no time to embrace the first rays of the new year.
On his deathbed, Ouyang Ye dialed Instructor Yang's phone and said with the last bit of strength, "When I am well, I will return to the outpost." ”
How can an old wound be unmoved and a new pain be added? Like Yang Zuofei, on that day, company commander Solang Qunpei rushed to the post at the first time and found su Wanfei, a sacrificed comrade-in-arms, between the rock walls. He wept with sorrow and tears, like a child.
The poet Ai Qing wrote in "I Love this Land": Why do I often have tears in my eyes? Because I love this land so much... According to statistics, from marching into Tibet and defending Tibet to building Tibet, more than 600 martyrs have been buried in the Shannan Martyrs' Cemetery. Despite this, the border guards who have stubble after stubble have taken root here one after another and have stood here without complaint or regret.
Time flies, and the snowy mountains echo the praises of heroes. More than 30 years ago, on the way to the nameless lake, platoon leader Zhang Ziyi walked at the front of the line carrying dozens of kilograms of materials. After a long journey, Zhang Ziyi's physical strength was seriously overdrawn. When resting on the edge of a cliff, Zhang Ziyi suddenly clutched his chest tightly, and a mouthful of blood sprayed on the snow, heroically sacrificing.
As evidenced by the blue sky, their backs stand tall as mountains. On June 12, veteran Ding Song returned to the snowy area after 39 years. When visiting the military history corridor of the military sub-district, before the "Zhang Fulin Class" of the 3197 outpost was exhibited, the veterans who had passed the age of huajia gave a military salute with deep affection: "I used to be the deputy squad leader of the 'Zhang Fulin class.'..." The veteran's emotional narration brought the officers and men at the scene back to those difficult years.
In December 1951, on the way to Tibet, Zhang Fulin, who was the main task of excavating the granite section in Qi'er Mountain, inspected and found that there was a problem with the gun hole prepared for the charge, so he hurriedly overhauled it, but was unexpectedly hit by a stone and died heroically. The following year, Zhang Fulin was awarded the honorary title of "Hero of Road Construction", and the class he worked in was named "Zhang Fulin Class".
Today, the "Zhang Fulin Class" is stationed on the 3197 Heights, and the spirit of the martyr Zhang Fulin has been passed down to this day, and the officers and men have taken the sentry as their home and have successively won more than 20 collective third-class merits.
On the snowy mountains, their names will always be engraved
Standing at the gate of the Seventh Company Battalion of a certain border defense regiment, looking at The Jinbu Mountain at an altitude of 3782 meters, the gantry of the ropeway stands on a straight cliff, and the python-like steel rope plunges from the valley floor into the clouds to reach the Gibb post.
After Su Wanfei's sacrifice, his comrades-in-arms named the place where he fell off the cliff "Sacrifice Cliff", and every time there was a qingming and a martyr's sacrifice anniversary, everyone would offer a white Hada to mourn.
The snowy mountains are nameless, but they are forever inscribed with the hero's name. In a grove of trees about 100 meters away from the "Cliff of Sacrifice", the officers and men took the "leaf" in the name of the sentry chief Ouyang Ye, which was called "Siye Forest".
"Ouyang Sentinel, who died of sudden myocarditis, often built roads in this forest before his death, and the grass and trees here are the most beautiful scenery in his eyes." Non-commissioned officer Wang Haoyu recalled.
Some people stay in the cold winter, but pave the way to spring. The mountain road from the forest to the outpost is slippery in rain and snow. Before the sacrifice, Ouyang Ye had been leading his comrades to find stones to pave the way. With few stones at the outpost, he expanded his search. After the road was paved, the stones near the outpost within a radius of 1 km were "swept away" by him.
Walking into the "Siye Forest", the 1,001 thousand paper cranes hanging in the forest sway with the wind, becoming a special scenery of the Gibb post.
The Thousand Paper Crane "flew" from Yunnan to the snowy border pass. At the beginning of this year, Cha Qiuyue, a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences of Yunnan Normal University, learned about the Gibb post through the news, learned about the deeds of Ouyang Ye and Su Wanfei, and used his spare time to fold into 1,001 thousand paper cranes. Along with the thousand paper cranes, there was also a letter, in which she wrote: "1001, meaning one in a thousand, you are a good boy who chooses one in a thousand..."
Before Cha Qiuyue sent special gifts, Li Dan, a model of supporting the army in Luohe, Henan, also sent blessings, and the package was stuffed with foods such as white rabbit milk candy, as well as several "Fu" ornaments.
"You are the loveliest people, and I will definitely visit you at the outpost when I have the chance." Li Dan is an "iron fan" of Tibetan border guards. On the eve of August 1, 2018, Li Dan went to the Tibetan border guard to communicate with officers and soldiers at the Zhan Niangshe post, and the Tibetan border guards left a deep impression on her.
At the far side, the hero has not been forgotten. Like Su Wanfei, the place where the superior soldiers fell off a cliff and sacrificed on the patrol road is also called "Sacrificial Cliff". Just this name, 15 years earlier.
After Gu Nu's sacrifice, Ma Yunshan, deputy company commander of his recruit company, knelt in front of the grief-stricken Gu Nu mother and said, "Mom, we are all your soldier sons!" ”
For more than 10 years, Ma Yunshan has adhered to the promise of "filial piety for comrades-in-arms", and the more this "mother" is called, the closer it is. Every time he took a vacation, Ma Yunshan, who lived in Jiangsu, would go to Chongqing, his hometown of Gu Nu, to live for a while, and in this home that was not related to him, he would do the housework that his son should do and do the filial piety that his son should do.
Behind every border guard soldier is a home, and one family is not round but only for ten thousand families. For Junwa Hu Bowen, his father has not returned home for 10 years. He could only "get to know" his father Hu Yongfei through a yellowed photo. From his mother, Zhou Zhongyan, he learned that his father was serving in Tibet far away, and looking forward to his father coming home became his obsession with his twilight thoughts.
However, after waiting for 10 years, Hu Bowen realized that this was a white lie that his mother had continued for 10 years. In 2009, Hu Yongfei, the captain of the automobile team, took the car to the Lazela post to perform a mission, and because the road collapsed and fell off a cliff, the three people in the car were thrown out of the window.
The injured Hu Yongfei saw that not far away, a boulder that had been taken down by the truck was rolling towards the driver and co-pilot. At the moment of the first attack, he quickly pushed the unconscious co-pilot away, but he was hit in the head by a rolling stone. Two comrades survived, but he remained at the border of the plateau forever. The place where Hu Yongfei was sacrificed was called "Hero Slope" by the officers and soldiers.
In 2019, Zhou Zhongyan plucked up the courage to tell his son the truth, and took his son thousands of miles to the plateau border pass and boarded the Lazela post. Wading through mountains and rivers, running for thousands of miles, mother and son stood on the outpost, watching the outpost with mixed feelings. The Lazara outpost on the snowy mountain is like a monument, which has become the spiritual sustenance of mother and son.
The ancient Sequ River, winding down the canyon. In the middle and lower reaches of the river, the three bright red characters of "General Cliff" on the qianling stone wall on the shore are particularly eye-catching. In January 1984, Zhang Guirong, then commander of the Tibet Military Region, surveyed the border patrol road, and on the rugged mountain road, he struggled forward with a crutch in one hand and a ponytail in the other, and suddenly suffered a plateau myocardial infarction in the middle of the way, and fell at the border pass forever. Since then, the "General Cliff" has become the spiritual highland of the Border Guards.
General Cliff, Sacrifice Cliff, Siye Forest, Hero Slope... Behind each name is a touching and profound story, and behind each story is full of the boundless affection of the border guards for the party and the motherland for Tibet.
Moving forward is the best tribute to the martyrs
"2012 was a bit of a special year for our company." Recalling the past, Yang Xiangguo, commander of the second battalion of a certain border defense regiment, is still in a difficult mood. Luo Guowen was sacrificed in 1998, And Gu Fu was sacrificed in 2005... I don't know who found this coincidence, every 7 years, 1 comrade in the company died.
In this regard, Yu Gang, the company commander at the time, was not superstitious. But he did not dare to be careless, after the sacrifice of Gu Nu, the scene of Gu Nu's mother's grief was vividly remembered.
"The officers and men of the company are as close as brothers, and no one can be left behind." Each patrol touched the nerves of him and his instructor Zhang Xiaobin. Especially during a patrol in May of that year, the new recruit Tsering Dunzhu really made Zhang Xiaobin break out in a cold sweat.
On that patrol, Tsering Dunzhu was particularly active. Not far from the "Cliff of Sacrifice", a cliff with a "road surface" of less than 50 centimeters wide, and at the foot of it is a cliff. The other comrades were slowly moving forward with a protective rope, while he trotted all the way with a weight of 30 kilograms. Seeing the situation, Zhang Xiaobin was anxious to rebuke: "You don't want to die!" ”
Fortunately, in 2012, the company successfully completed all patrol tasks, and the officers and men were safe and sound. "Patrol materials and equipment such as sleeping bags and hiking ladders have been continuously upgraded, adding a lock to the personal safety of officers and men." Yang Xiangguo said, "The xiongguan dangerous pass did not frighten the officers and men, and the stubble of the officers and men bravely marched along the footsteps of the heroes." ”
Moving forward is the best tribute to the martyrs. After Su Wanfei's death, deputy company commander Xiong Zhonghui was ordered to take over Su Wanfei's post. "Strive to do a good job in the unfinished business before Su Pai's eternal life." At the beginning of the outpost, Xiong Zhonghui felt a heavy responsibility. After losing two sentinels in a row, he knows that time is the antidote to healing wounds. This former second-class hero tried to use his own way to get everyone out of grief as soon as possible.
Xiong Zhonghui has his own experience- the attention transfer method, through the development of a variety of cultural and sports activities, enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the officers and men of the post, so that everyone can untie the "heart knot." The equipment training ground has been upgraded repeatedly. The horizontal bar was made of two rhododendron trunks with a steel pipe, and SuWan flew up the sentry and flattened a piece of land, pulled a pair of horizontal bars from the company, and the simple version became the standard version. Today, Xiong Zhonghui has led everyone to carry forward the "Nanniwan Spirit" and further expanded the equipment training ground on the basis of the horizontal bar of "SuWanfei Version".
Ma Junxi, a recruit party member, said: "The examples around us are the inexhaustible driving force for us to move forward. At the beginning of the next company, he took the initiative to submit a patrol application and became the first soldier of the same year to embark on the patrol road.
Ma Junxi grew up in Tacheng, Xinjiang. With the support of his family, Ma Junxi resolutely joined the army after graduating from Qinghai Nationalities University and came to the snowy border pass. Listening to the touching deeds of Ouyang Ye and Su Wanfei's comrades-in-arms, Ma Junxi said firmly: "Where there is a lot of hardship, it is a good place to make meritorious achievements." ”
Ouyang Ye died, and Company Corporal Peng Yi was particularly sad. Before, Peng Yi and Ouyang Ye would always meet to train together and encourage each other. The soul returned to miss long, and Peng Yi turned his nostalgia for Ouyang Ye into a driving force for hard training. In the end, kung fu pays off. Last year, Peng Yi set a record in the Tibet Military Region's "Top of the Snow 2020" competition, winning the second place in the horizontal bar pull-up class and the third class meritorious service once.
Thousands of rivers and mountains, the place to return is you. On the snowy mountain, the string of footprints and the scenery all recorded the stories of border guards who could sing and cry...
