Michael B Jordan says the director allowed him to improve himself and helped him complete Creed III.

Michael P. B. Jordan and Denzel Washington collaborated in the new film "Jordan's Diary," and the "Creed" actor praised Washington for making him a better actor.

Michael B Jordan says the director allowed him to improve himself and helped him complete Creed III.

Chanté Adams and Michael B. Jordan starred in "A Journal for Jordan," based on a true love story.

Jordan starred in the film, which Washington directed based on Dana Canedy's New York Times bestseller (also known as "Jordan Magazine").

The film tells the true love story of Canedy and her husband, First Sgt. Charles Monroe gold. The film's name comes from a diary King wrote for his young son Jordan in case he was killed in fighting in Iraq.

Jordan told Entertainment Weekly he admired Washington, and when asked what drew him to the film, he said it was an opportunity to work with the legendary actor. He also praised the "Glory" star for helping him improve his craft and preparing Jordan for director "Creed III."

"Opportunity to work with Denzel. When Popovich or someone calls you, you say, 'Oh, damn. Good. Yes. I showed up,'" he said. "But I think the opportunity to work with one of my mentors and someone I admire, to be able to learn from him and receive his guidance, is priceless... This seems to be taken for granted. ”

The actor prepared for the film by training at Fort Owen, the U.S. Army National Training Center in San Bernardino County, California.

He also prepares for the role by meeting Kim's family and friends. Jordan wanted to make sure he respected Kim and his wife, Canedy, and their love story.

In August, he shared the "Jordan Magazine" campaign on Twitter.

"Just in time for the holiday! There is no love without sacrifice. @journal4jordan Based on a true story. Exclusive 12/25 theater release. ”

The actor also noted that Washington was drawn to his deep respect for the military.

Jordan said Washington was "absolutely" prepared for him to direct Creed III by observing his actions on set and asking him questions. The actor also praised the director's motivational skills.

"Being directed by Denzel is like you've been to a masterclass in every way. He shows up at work every day and goes all in. There's nothing in the tank when he leaves, so you have to match that energy and that kind of power. So that definitely pushed me to do more," Jordan said. "It was an incredible experience... It has improved my level of play in many ways, so I am very grateful for the process. ”

The Jordanian Diaries will premiere on December 25.
