Chen Fan (?) –168), courtesy name Zhongju, was a native of Runan, Henan. The emperors of the middle and late Eastern Han Dynasty were not very old, that is to say, they were still children when they were emperors, and their sons were still young when they died. The third force is the traditional scholar-doctor force in the court.
In order to compete for control of the government, these three forces allied with each other and strangled each other, and the "party rebellion" occurred in the last years of the Eastern Han Dynasty.
The Party Rebellion got its name from the eunuchs who imprisoned the soldiers for life on the charge of "party members". It happened twice.
The first occurred in 166, when the Three Dukes appealed to the then emperor, Emperor Huan of Han, and were retaliated against by eunuchs, who sided with eunuchs, resulting in a large number of officials being deposed.
The second occurred in 168, when eunuchs took advantage of emperor Hanling's young reign and Empress Dou's reign to take revenge on the remaining forces of the party, and the party members were again attacked, and countless people were implicated in the destruction of the door.
Both party rebellions ended in the defeat of the anti-eunuch clique, which suffered an unprecedented blow and the party members were brutally suppressed.
The clean and honest officials were either killed or imprisoned, and the eunuchs did whatever they wanted, killing the people, thus provoking a popular uprising, and eventually under the assistance of natural disasters, the Yellow Turban Rebellion and the rise of the world, and the Eastern Han Dynasty eventually went to its demise.
As a leading figure of the scholars, Chen Fan actively participated in the activities of the "fallen eunuchs", and the famous figures among the scholars at that time were known as "Three Juns", "Eight Juns", "Eight Gu", "Eight He", and "Eight Cooks".
Chen Fan, who dared to advise the emperor, was among the "Three Kings".
At that time, the great general Dou Wu and the scholar-master allied to prepare for a mutiny: to raid the imperial palace to eliminate the eunuch forces, but on the seventh day of September, when General Dou went home to rest for the "weekend", a mutiny plan was hastily left in his office, and coincidentally, this plan was seen by the eunuchs, which was repaid! So the eunuchs met in tandem all night and decided to strike first.
The eunuchs first deceived emperor Ling, who was only 14 years old, and then snatched the seal, seal, rune, and festival, falsely issued edicts, kidnapped Empress Dou, and hunted down Dou Wu, Chen Fan, and others.
Chen Fan, who was eighty years old, heard the news and led dozens of Taiwei officials and Tai students to draw swords and try to rush into the Chengming Gate and snatch back Tianzi, but they were outnumbered, and they were finally captured and killed on the same day.

It can be seen that after the metaphysics of Wei and Jin, the orthodox Confucian culture was revived again, and the mainstream of society represented by Liu Yiqing was also showing its views through various "platforms", so the core values of "Speaking New Languages of the World" are still traditional Confucianism. However, after all, the trend of metaphysics and relaxation cannot change overnight, but Liu Song, as the representative of the emerging Han clan, and the later regimes of the Southern Dynasty, subtly changed customs and customs, laying the foundation for the great unification of culture in the Sui and Tang dynasties.
So is Chen Fan a stubborn person who does not sweep a house and is difficult to sweep the world? Or is it the mainstay of clarifying the world?

And Chen Fan is sparse, and if he tries to be extremely dangerous, then the group of fierce people will look sideways, and the disaster will not heel, and since he knows that it is appropriate to curse evil quickly and be cautious in handling things, why should he still declare the left and right? The conspiracy is not treacherous, the language is contradictory, and the knower knows that he is incompetent.
Dou Wu's death is lost in play; Chen Fan's death is lost in stupidity.

The result of the party chaos was the beginning of centuries of war.
