The revolutionary spirit of the older generation is worth learning and commemorating, and in that turbulent era, the hardships they experienced and the humiliations they endured were unimaginable to our generation, and this perseverance to bear hardships and stand hard work is precisely what contemporary young people lack the most. General Yu Qiuli's life is so difficult and tortuous, his story sounds tragic but full of legend.

Yu Qiuli was born in Jiangxi in 1914, his parents were ordinary peasants, and his parents insisted on providing him with education when the economic situation was very poor, although he only read for two years, he could be regarded as a literate person. At that time, the rural people all felt that it was easy to give a "low name" to support, and General Yu Qiuli was called a dog doll from birth, until he joined the army, there was no name that could not be registered. The people at the registration office heard that he was born around the autumn and gave him a name, Yu Qiuli.
In 1934, when Ren Bi, then a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, led the army on a western expedition, Yu Qiuli was appointed as the captain of the guard team, mainly responsible for protecting the safety of Ren Bishi. Unfortunately, Ren Bishi was plagued by malaria during the western expedition and was too weak to walk, and the guards could only carry it on stretchers. As the captain of the guard team, Yu Qiuli is particularly responsible for being intimate, putting his clothes on the stretcher, and also dividing the people carrying the stretcher according to their height to avoid excessive bumps. At that time, the situation was critical, and they also experienced nine deaths together on the way. Yu Qiuli's seriousness and responsibility were also greatly appreciated by Ren Bishi, who praised that this young man must have a great future in the future.
In 1934, the Red Army began the Long March, and Yu Qiuli was already serving as a political commissar in the Eighteenth Regiment. During the Long March, the Red Army passed through Mount Wumeng, and the Eighteenth Regiment was responsible for blocking the Kuomintang troops in the rear. During the blockade, Yu Qiuli's left arm was injured, and the situation was critical, and it was impossible to heal at all, so he could only simply bandage and then go into war again. Subsequently, while covering the retreat of the main force, the left arm was injured twice, and at this time the bones could be faintly seen, making people dare not look directly.
The march of the Long March was arduous and great, with the Kuomintang army in hot pursuit behind them, fierce firepower, and the soldiers suffered in a complex environment. Yu Qiuli was unable to walk because his left arm could not be handled in time, and was carried by the soldiers on a stretcher. In the process of crossing the river, the boat overturned again, and Yu Qiuli floated on the surface of the water with all his strength, paddling desperately with his intact right arm to escape the raging river and finally be saved.
No matter how strong a person was, he couldn't withstand such a continuous toss, Yu Qiuli's wound had already been infected, and he had been sleeping for a long time with a high fever. After waking up, the wound hurt and could only soak in cold water, so he insisted on it for more than two hundred days, and after the big army meeting, the military doctor treated his left arm, but he could only amputate it. This is already a miracle, no one can come back alive in the case of a serious infection of the wound, the pain of the wound alone can not bear, which shows how tenacious his perseverance is!
With only one arm left, Yu Qiuli's revolutionary will was more firm, and the mutilation of his body did not affect his defense of his family and country. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, the regimental headquarters led by Yu Qiuli participated in many battles such as the Hundred Regiments War, the Great Counteroffensive against the Japanese Army, and the defense of Yan'an. The unique method of training troops was personally appreciated by Chairman Mao, and he Long praised his many military achievements: "In the eight years of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yu Qiuli fought the first regiment in the world. ”
After the founding of New China, Yu Qiuli was awarded the rank of lieutenant general, held many important positions, and also served as vice premier of the State Council. In particular, the sensational Daqing oilfield exploitation, that is, he led tens of thousands of oil workers to work tirelessly to exploit it, which also made China get rid of the restrictions of the capital state on China's oil resources, and the life of the one-armed general was full of legends, from the victory of the anti-Japanese resistance to the rise of new China, he paid too much.
Yu Qiuli's lifelong contribution to the country and the people is outstanding, although his old man has passed away, but the spirit he left behind will be remembered.
