Big-nosed lover from France, the Bassete Hound

Image source network, invasion and deletion

The Bassete Hound is a descendant of the French Saint-Hugh Hound, a hound with a medal of honor. "Bassett" is derived from the French word "bas", meaning "low". It has a bloody head and an abnormal sense of smell; it has the thick fur of a foxhound, which is not afraid of the cold; and the impact of a dachshund with a thick skeleton. Because of its sensitive sense of smell and a dramatic bitter melon face, it is also known as "Sihano in the Dog", that is, "Big Nose Love Saint".

Due to the inheritance of the bloodline, the Bashet Hound has the figure of a large belly bottle or Pear, and is decorated with two sagging ears. Traditionally, they were hunting companions of the French nobility in the 16th century. They were not well known except in France, and did not emerge until 1863 at the Paris Dog Show. Twelve years later it began to gain popularity in Britain, especially among the British royal family.

The Bashet Hound has a good colored fur, and the coat color is various, the most common of which is white with maroon or sandstone prints. The villi are shorter and the skin is sagging. Short legs, big paws, thick skeleton, sagging ears, poor bouncing power but strong tracking power, suitable for ground tracking tasks. Average height 14 inches, weight 40-50 pounds.

The Basset Hound is suitable for training for hunting and is also suitable as a family pet. They are loyal, enthusiastic, and get along well with small children, and are known as "dogs that don't bite people". Because of his lazy appearance, he rarely acts as a guard dog.
