French prosecutors confirmed on February 23 that the famous movie star Gerald Depardieu had been charged with rape and sexual assault. Two days later, Depardieu suddenly said that they were all unsubstantiated allegations, and that he himself was innocent. He told the Italian newspaper la Repubblica that he would appear in court on March 10 because the judge would believe his innocence.

Radio France International reported that he himself said in an interview with the Italian newspaper la Repubblica on the 25th: He is innocent, the allegations are groundless, and there is no evidence. Gerald dePardieu also complains about living in the cruel information age today. New means of communication, such as mobile phones; tablets; the Internet; and social media, allow people to live in a constant stream of negative news, and what everyone hears and sees is often false and biased untrue news. He told Italian reporters that he would be in court on March 10 and that the judge would return his innocence.
72-year-old Gerald Depardiyo was confirmed on the 23rd with allegations of rape and sexual assault. The case was investigated in 2018 and halted in 2019 due to insufficient evidence. Prosecutors reopened their investigations in the summer of 2020, and in December of the same year, charges of rape and sexual assault were launched against Depardieu.
According to le Figaro, an actress in her 20s identified Gerald dePardieu as raping and sexually assaulting her at his home in Montparnasse, Paris. The accuser said two times; one was August 7, 2018; the other was August 13, 2018.
The reason for the initiation of the rape and sexual assault case was that he found a video of the young actress's misconduct in the living room of the Depardieu mansion. The plaintiffs said there was no video evidence of what happened after Depardieu forced her to go to her bedroom.
The identity of the actress was not disclosed. Depardieu's lawyer, Termim, has yet to respond, though he has previously said that Depardieu "absolutely denies any allegations of rape, sexual assault or other crimes."
Born in central France in 1948, Gerald dePardi has made more than 100 films and has won film awards at several film festivals. His father was a worker; his mother was a housewife; and he had 5 brothers and sisters in Canada, living on a shoestring basis. He dropped out of school at the age of 13 and was largely illiterate. As a teenager, he made a living as a petty thief. He once worked as an apprentice in a printing house at The French Centre News; or worked as a handyman in an underground boxing ring; and made a living selling food on the beach.
After coming to Paris from the south in 1963, he studied hard at the drama school. After entering the film world, it is even more blossoming. In 1990, he became famous for starring in Cyrano de Bergerac, and in October 2014 he released his autobiography Cas' est fait comme ca, in which he exploded in a lesser-known past, where he had been engaged in same-sex prostitution and tomb robbery.
