On February 7, 1931, the blood of the "Twenty-Four Martyrs of Longhua", including five young writers of the Chinese Left-Wing Writers' Union, Rou Shi, Hu Yipin, Li Weisen, Feng Hao, and Yin Fu, was sprinkled on the execution ground. Two years later, Lu Xun angrily wrote an essay entitled "For the Remembrance of Forgetting" to commemorate the "Five Martyrs of the Left League". Now, on the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 90th anniversary of the sacrifice of the "Five Martyrs of the Left League", "Outpost" will reproduce that period of history. The play is written by Huang Changyong, president of the Shanghai Theater Academy, directed by young director Ma Junfeng, with Tian Qinxin as the artistic director, Wang Luoyong and Yuan Hong starring, and Wan Qian singing the theme song.

"Writing this play can be said to be a kind of 'wish'." Professor Huang Changyong has long studied modern and contemporary Chinese literature, and when he was studying for a doctorate at Fudan University, he wrote a 300,000-word "Commentary on the Five Martyrs of the Left League". This time, he used historical materials for drama creation, and in two years, he changed the outline of the script six times, and repeatedly solicited the suggestions of experts and scholars. Last summer, he was closed in Suzhou, shutting down every day to focus on writing for 12 hours, carefully polishing and perfecting the script, so that "Outpost" has the thickness of a documentary drama. Huang Changyong introduced: "After the sacrifice of the five martyrs of the Left Alliance, the organ publication of the Chinese Left-Wing Writers Union", "Outpost", came out, and the inaugural issue was a commemorative album of the five martyrs. The title 'Outpost' was printed on a wooden board after Lu Xun personally wrote it. The play is named after the martyrs in the name of "Outpost" and explores their footprints in pursuing their faith. ”

Because these revolutionary martyrs were not yet 30 years old when they sacrificed their lives and blood, Huang Changyong adopted a "two-line nesting" drama structure in the narrative structure of the script, so that contemporary youth and revolutionary youth of the same age in history can relate and dialogue, and also attract today's young audiences to feel and understand the revolutionary martyrs.

Such a painstaking work with a heavy sense of history and revolutionary romanticism, Huang Changyong finally chose to hand over the script to the young director Ma Junfeng. From the pre-script creation discussion to the selection of actors, to the second creation, stage presentation, Ma Junfeng poured a lot of effort: "When this play was first performed, everyone was very moved, and many audiences were in tears. I reflected the places where the life and ideals of the Left League martyrs touched me from the bottom of my heart, and naturally touched the audience. ”

The starring lineup of "Outpost" gathers many alumni of the opera, and lu xun is played by performance artist Wang Luoyong. Before this, he had repeatedly refused various film and television invitations to ask him to play Lu Xun, but this time he took over the task and created a flesh-and-blood, vivid Mr. Lu Xun on the stage. "This role is so hard! First of all, being able to play such a role is a blessing for an actor, and to say that China has a backbone, a sense of responsibility, and a thoughtful literati, Lu Xun is absolutely well-deserved, and it is very honorable to be able to play such a character. But when I took on this role, I also panicked, because the character was too complicated. Wang Luoyong said frankly: "My biggest feeling when I play Lu Xun is how to balance the two sides of Lu Xun - cold and hot, enthusiasm and seriousness, academic rigor and patience with young people." ”

The invitation to Yuan Hong to play Roushi comes from the wisdom of director Ma Junfeng. When he was worried about finding an actor who played Roushi, he saw a picture of Yuan Hong and decided at a glance that it was him. What made Ma Junfeng particularly touched was, "On the day I modeled Yuan Hong, I was rehearsing a play, and I saw him walking in the dark wearing a costume, and that image and temperament were too similar to soft stones!" I was shocked and burst into tears. Then we hugged each other, and it was a very good feeling. ”

For Yuan Hong, the reason why he chose "Outpost" as the first drama work to fulfill his "stage dream" for many years is also because rehearsing this play has made him return to school, "Teacher Wang Luoyong is the teacher who taught us in those years, and Lu Xun, who plays him, is also the one who prefers Roushi; Gu Xin and Xie Chengying, who play Feng Hao and Hu Yepin, are my classmates and sisters, and they are all people I am familiar with." In this play, that youthful passion also rekindled my passion for drama. I especially hope that the audience can feel that in fact, every generation of young people is the same, they will also hesitate and wander, but they made a brave choice at that time. In every age, young people are the hope of the nation. ”
