Cao Xueqin's use of this allusion to the relationship between Bao Chao and Dai Yu does not seem appropriate. Meng Guang took over Liang Hong's case, which refers to the relationship between husband and wife, between men and women.
On the contrary, I think that this is Cao Xueqin's understanding of the feelings of Meng Guang and Liang Hong.
Meng Guang and Liang Hong do not have love, Meng Guang blindly pays, and Liang Hong blindly accepts, there is no love between men and women for Meng Guang, and there is no intimacy between husband and wife.
Just like the Dream of the Red Chamber, the lifelong mistake of the evaluation of Baochao:
In the air, the mountains are full of crystal snow... Sighing in the world, the beauty is not enough to believe, even if it is a case of raising eyebrows, it is difficult to reconcile in the end.
Cao Xueqin quoted the allusion that Meng Guang took over the Liang Hong case, which is intended to illustrate the relationship between Baoyu and Baochao, more respect, less love, and their marriage relationship has nothing to do with love.
The only thing he loved deeply was Lin Daiyu, who cried and cried all day, and Lin Daiyu, who was deeply in tune with his spirit.
And Meng Guang is not Liang Hong's favorite, Meng Guang waits for Liang Hong, this is respect, and Liang Hong has accepted such a waiting all his life, and he also lacks love. Therefore, raising eyebrows has not always been the meaning of the affection of husband and wife, but represents the relationship between husband and wife similar to friendship.
