On the afternoon of July 1, Lanzhou youth volunteers visited the families of Ouyang Zhang and Du Changping, the first volunteers in Gansu Province to sign the donation of body organs, and visited Du Changping's grandmother, the old partner of the elderly Ouyang Zhang, who had donated the body. They were sent fruits, milk, rapeseed oil and other daily necessities, sending the care and warmth of people from all walks of life.
"I'm 88 years old! Although the legs and feet are not flexible, the spirit head is still very good! Seeing that the volunteers came to visit themselves at home, Grandma Du Changping happily took the volunteers' hands and chatted about the day. In addition to fruit, milk and other things to eat, volunteers will also prepare a sunflower bouquet for Grandma Du Changping to deliver, and Grandma Du Changping who received the bouquet was happy like a child, "The children are so sweet!" Buy me flowers for this old lady"!
Ouyang Zhang and Du Changping were the first volunteers in Gansu to sign the registration of body donation, and they were also veteran party members. In January 2013, the two elderly people learned about unpaid organ donation through watching TV, so the two elderly people went to the Basic Medical College of Lanzhou University Medical College to register as the first couple in Gansu Province to donate organs free of charge as a family unit.
