The lofty ideals and convictions and revolutionary spirit of martyr Yu Xiusong, the founder of the Chinese Socialist Youth League, promoted the study and education of party history, and carried forward the great spirit of party building.

The seminar was divided into two parts: keynote report and thematic discussion. In the view of Zhang Baijia, former deputy director of the CPC Central Committee Party History Research Office and former executive vice president of the China CPC Party History Figures Research Association, Yu Xiusong was a typical figure in the study of the history of the CPC in the early days, and the early figures of the party had their own characteristics; some people did more work in theoretical propaganda, and left a lot of literature and materials; for revolutionary doers such as Yu Xiusong, it was relatively difficult to collect data, and it was a difficult point in the study of party history figures, and it was hoped that more people would participate in this work. He also pointed out that the study of early figures must be combined with their historical background and their mental journey and practical experience, and at the same time, the relationship between revolution, human nature and morality can be explored from the philosophical level.
"The study of party history figures who died young may have a short time span, the basic exhaustion of existing historical materials, and the duplication of research content." Hu Xianzhong, director of the Archives of the Youth Movement Of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, said that for a party history figure such as Yu Xiusong, he has a triple identity of culture, society and politics, and should be interpreted through social structure and social mentality, and pointed out that to do research on the history of the Youth Movement, it is necessary to have a sociological imagination and understand his social and historical significance.
As the last speaker of the keynote speech, Tang Peiji is a "post-90s" who is 92 years old this year. As a professor and dean of the Original Literature Law School of Tongji University, and former president and honorary president of the Shanghai Municipal CPC History Society, Tang Peiji felt that Yu Xiusong's revolutionary spirit contained the revolutionary spirit of saving the country and the people, the revolutionary spirit of pursuing truth and adhering to faith, the revolutionary spirit of participating in the revolution and forging ahead courageously, the revolutionary spirit of persisting in struggle, and the spirit of serving the people wholeheartedly in overcoming all kinds of difficulties. Therefore, whether or not Yu Xiusong can be proposed as a great proletarian revolutionary needs to be discussed together. ”
During the special discussion stage, the participants expressed their views from three perspectives, namely, "Yu Xiusong and the Great Spirit of Party Building," "Yu Xiusong's Revolutionary Practice and Its Spirit," and "Studying and Carrying Forward Yu Xiusong's Revolutionary Spirit."

This year is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party, next year is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the communist youth league, the deputy secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, the secretary of the party committee of the Shanghai League School, and the president dai Bing pointed out that the holding of this forum is a tribute to the glorious history, great spirit and pioneering strength. As a political school under the League, Shanghai Youth League School will always firmly adhere to the positioning of political schools and red schools, implement the requirements emphasized by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the mobilization conference for party history study and education, do a good job in the study and education of young people, and regard excellent cultural traditions and revolutionary spirit as rich resources and inexhaustible driving forces for opening up the future.
He introduced that this year, the Shanghai Youth League School has successively established the "Shanghai Communist Youth League Yu Xiusong Research Center", which has completed a pioneer square with the core of displaying the spirit of the pioneers in the early days of the party building and the league, erected a ring of faith and a statue of yu Xiusong martyr, and held a national theme school celebration forum on "high-level league school construction in the new era". Facing the future, the Shanghai League School will continue to focus on "Yu Xiusong and the Revolutionary Deeds of the Young Pioneers of the Founding Party", explain and publicize the great spirit of party building, continue the red bloodline, inherit the red gene, strengthen the study and education of the youth party history of the youth cadres and members of the League, and build a political school with distinctive characteristics of the party in the field of youth work.
