Beijing time on July 7 Table tennis evergreen Vladimir Samsonov confirmed that he will withdraw from the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

The 45-year-old veteran is one of the most beloved athletes in table tennis, having competed six times since the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.

At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Samsonov managed to qualify for the semi-finals, but eventually finished fourth, rubbing shoulders with the medals.

Samsonov was born in 1976, 1 meter 9 tall, the main awards are: 2012 Table Tennis World Cup Men's Singles Third Place, 2009 Table Tennis World Cup Men's Singles Champion, 2001 Table Tennis World Cup Men's Singles Champion, 1996 Table Tennis World Cup Men's Singles Third Place.
