On January 27, Beijing time, Greek powerhouse Thessaloniki officially announced that the team officially signed former Japanese international Shinji Kagawa, and the two sides signed a one-and-a-half-year contract.

Shinji Kagawa signed with Thessaloniki as a free agent, and he will wear the number 23 shirt to play in the Greek Super League.

Zaragoza terminated his contract with Shinji Kagawa last summer, and the former Japan international has been idle at home ever since.

Born in 1989, Shinji Kagawa has played for Sakura Osaka, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Besiktas and Zaragoza, helping Dortmund win two Bundesliga titles and manchester United win one Premier League title. In 2011, Shinji Kagawa also helped Japan win the Asian Cup.

While playing for Dortmund, Shinji Kagawa was elected Bundesliga half-time MVP.
