The final judging panel of the competition unit of this film festival is Xie Fei, Chen Desen, Ani Qiuji, Li Xiaofeng, Zhang Chong, Yang Zishan and many other well-known domestic filmmakers, who judge the final 21 films shortlisted and determine 15 competition awards such as the best film award and the best feature short film.

In the short film competition section, "Bathhouse Drummer" won the best editing award in addition to the best drama short film award.

Since the opening of the film collection channel from April 31, 2020 to July 31, 2020, the 7th Chongqing Youth Film Festival has received a total of 496 competition films from all over the world, covering the United States, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Hong Kong and other countries and regions, and finally 16 short films and 5 feature films.

Since its inception in 2014, the Chongqing Youth Film Festival has invited more than 100 industry guests and film practitioners to participate in film screenings and forum activities, and has screened nearly 500 domestic and foreign films, organized more than 400 offline activities, and successively linked 70 colleges and universities, more than 10 cultural and creative parks and many theaters across the country, with a total number of participants of more than 100,000 people, becoming one of the largest and most influential professional film festivals in the western region.
