King Xiong of Chuzhuang, surname of Chuzhuang, xiong, famous brigade, son of king of Chumu.

In the twelfth year of King Mu of Chu (613 BC), King Mu died, King Zhuang took the throne, and there were many domestic contradictions, and King Taoguang of Chuzhuang was obscure, showing a situation of indulging in sound and color and not asking about political affairs. After three years, he had a basic understanding of the political situation and various figures in the Chu State, was diligent in political affairs, and reused loyal ministers such as Wu Ju and Su Cong. Pacifying the Yong state, expanding the power of the Chu state to the northwest, appointing the virtuous hermit Sun Shu'ao as Ling Yin, attaching importance to social production, developing the economy, and enriching the national strength.

In 598 BC, the State of Chu and the State of Zheng formed an alliance at Chenling, but at both ends of the Zheng State, the State of Chu sent troops to attack the State of Zheng, and the State of Zheng surrendered, exchanged hostages with the State of Chu, and returned to the State of Chu.

In 597 BC, the Jin army was defeated in the Battle of Wu, and from then on, the Chu state was greatly enhanced and dominated the Central Plains.
