Like many thousands of table tennis enthusiasts, I grew up listening to the story of Zhuang Zedong and the Chinese table tennis team and fell in love with this sport.

The first time I participated in the competition was in August 1973, when the Zhao Zhuangling Commune organized a primary school table tennis competition for the first time, and my Zhao Xiling School selected three male and female players in our class to represent the school.
Before the competition, the school overcame many difficulties, gritted its teeth, spent 5 pieces of 1 cent and 2 cents to the mining area more than 10 miles away, and bought us two "lightning" brand table tennis rackets with rubber sponges. Luckily, my semi-final opponent was not the host player, and without interference, I made it to the final smoothly. Before the final, all the staff and spectators naturally gathered in front of a table, and the opponent was the host player who eliminated his teammates. Before the game, I don't know whether it was intentional or unintentional arrangement, the nets of other tables were taken off, only the table used for the final had a net, there was a coach to practice with the host player, I was about to carry out the final, there was no warm-up venue, I could only watch the opponent practice, only to see the host player in the coach's sparring, pushing left and right, skillful, I thought to myself, we can't beat people.

There are several games in the tournaments that I have played that I will never forget.
In 1991, I represented the Jingxing County Bureau of Culture and Education to participate in the county staff table tennis competition, the first round met the middle school county champion, before the game was afraid of the opponent, the result can be imagined, the loss is a mess, but he only won the runner-up in the end, the champion often played with me, but never won me.
In 1992, I participated in the county staff table tennis tournament again, this time very smoothly into the final, the opponent is a good friend working in the court, I often go to his unit to play, usually play with him, I rarely lose, so easily won the first round, hindering face, I deliberately let him a round, who knows this put does not matter, the decisive game he completely let go, dare to fight, but made me overwhelmed, the more nervous, and finally gave the championship to others.
In 1995, I participated in the staff table tennis tournament in the whole district, the opponent level in the final was slightly higher than mine, I held the mentality of fighting the opponent, occupied the advantage on the field, and played 19 to 16 in both sets, and finally I was afraid of losing the game because of the stability, and once again rubbed shoulders with the champion.
These 3 games made me deeply realize that the table tennis game is not only technical and tactical, but more important than psychological, any fear, contempt, and conservatism will lead to failure. The reason why table tennis is called the national ball and is loved by the masses is because she has made outstanding contributions to the cause of sports in our country and won great honors for the motherland.
