One: a thousand bowls of lights on Hibiscus Street

In the early years of the Yongzheng Dynasty of the Qing Dynasty, the people of Jinan had a good place to concentrate on watching the lights; where is your way, it is the famous Jinjie Furong Street in Jinan.

According to the literature, the former Furong Street is a street full of cultural atmosphere, and for hundreds of years, it has been Jinan's "flower lantern street".

In the early years of Qing Yongzheng, shortly after the furong street became a street, Zhang Wenrui, a Xiaoshan poet who was then the tongzhi of The Capital of Qingzhou in Shandong, wrote two poems about Furong Street.

This is the earliest document we have seen since the furong street was formed.

From these two poems, it can be clearly seen: as early as three hundred years ago, Furong Street was already a drum and drum street, with brilliant lights, and became a place for tourists and scholars to visit, so that it was prosperous and lively, and in today's buzzwords, it became Jinan's "flower lantern street".

These two poems are from Zhang Wenrui's poetry collection.

Zhang Wenrui (1685——? Word cloud table, number six lakes, Zhejiang Xiaoshan people. The early years were too learned to be loud and tried many times. Later, he was elected by the Vinaya and granted the tongzhi of The Capital of Qingzhou in Shandong. In his office, he built forts, built water conservancy, and eliminated thieves and people, and achieved considerable success.

Zhang Wenruigong poems, in his book "The Remains of Mr. Six Lakes", there are two poems about Furong Street.

The first is "Jinan New Year's Eve":

Flow through qizhou nine points of smoke, taste the title of seventy-two springs.

A thousand bowls of lights on Furong Street, a rafter on the water pavilion.

The order of the festivals passes through the busy, and the moon is biased towards the haters.

The side of the boot is broken, and the poetry is worthy of the wine money.

There is also a song "After New Year's Eve To Hibiscus Street Entrance":

The weather is quite pleasant, and the tourist girl Shan Shan Road is not dusty.

Three and five full moons two eight lack, the old man came to step on the seven bridges in the spring.

Three hundred years ago, where did the Jinan people go to the Lantern Festival, Furong Street - "Furong Street Lights Thousand Bowls"; moreover, this Furong Street Lantern is on a par with the most soul-catching tourism project in Jinan - "Visiting Qizhou Nine Points of Smoke") and Guan Seventy-two Springs ("Pin Title Seventy-two Famous Springs").

In addition, Furong Street is not only a good place to enjoy the Lantern Festival, but also the best place to step on the street during the New Year's Eve in Jinan, and it is also a passage to Daming Lake and the water pavilion to visit the spring ("The old man came to step on the Spring of the Seven Bridges"). It is worth noting that after the poet writes about the New Year's Eve, this street becomes "the wandering girl's road is not dusty", and the implication of this poem is obvious: it is in terms of the grand situation that on the new year's eve, Furong Street must be a wandering woman like a cloud, rubbing shoulders and heels.

Zhang Wenrui once lived on the Hundred Flowers Continent and loved the landscape of Jinan, and the "Even Questions under the Calendar" was also quite emotional:

The light whip section goes around the Ming Lake, and the wind raises green puddles in June.

Love the poetry of Jinan, the mountains are like flowers and water like beads.

Zhang Wenrui's two ancient poems on Furong Street are very precious, because this is the earliest written record of Furong Street after it became a street.

"A thousand bowls of lights", this is a very grand number, although this is a poem, we can not use this number as a standard, but it shows that Furong Street was full of lights at that time, the scene of watching the lights was very warm, as the fact that Jinan is a winning place for viewing lights, there is no doubt.

Such years, such scenes, lasted a long, long time.

Zheng Hong (1830——? The word Bochen. People from Qufu, Shandong. All beings. Since childhood, he is intelligent and sensitive, and he is good at poetry and ancient words. Tried and failed. He is the author of "Huaiyatang Poetry".

Zheng Hong lived in an era that was nearly two hundred years later than Zhang Wenrui above, but he still saw the grandeur of watching the lanterns on Furong Street, and it was even worse than that year.

The following is Zheng Hong's poem "Bamboo Branches and Furong Street":

Red Pink Qing'e came in line, and the lantern people sat in two rows.

Furong Street is connected to Furong Lane, and the face of hibiscus is open.

Qing Guangxu engraved "Huaiyatang Poetry"

The poem is quite detailed about the lantern viewing of Furong Street. From the crowd watching the lights, the order of the lights, the location and direction, and the mood of the lights, there are vivid depictions.

"Red pink Qing'e", obviously the lantern viewing is mostly female, which is obviously a huge change from the "customs and incense do not go out" written by Tang Mengzhao in the early Qing Dynasty tang Mengzhao's "Jinan Shangyuan Bamboo Branch Words".

"People watching the lamp sit on both sides of the row", which is enough to see the grandeur of the lantern viewing, one is that both sides of Furong Street are full of crowds, and the other is "sitting" to see, indicating that the viewing time will be very long, and there is no place to sit late. (Note: Why is this so, look at the back and you will understand, it turns out that it is not only to see the lights, but also to watch folk performances and game accompaniments!) )

The third sentence, "Furong Street to Furong Lane", is even more unbelievable, one street is not enough, obviously crowded with spectators, so it has to be transferred to another street adjacent to it - Furong Lane.

The fourth sentence, "The face of the people is full of flowers", writes about the warm emotions of people watching the lights. Everyone smiled and blossomed, and their faces looked like brightly blooming hibiscus flowers. This "human face hibiscus" is clinging to the street name of "hibiscus", which is really a fantastic idea.

Lively and lively, yet orderly and elegant, this is the festive style of Furong Street in the past.

Second: game accompaniment on Hibiscus Street

The historical status of Furong Street as Jinan's "Golden Street", you do not recognize it. As mentioned earlier, Since its birth, Furong Street has been Jinan's "flower lantern street", and later, it has become Jinan's "game companion street". This can be proved by the poem of Wang Rubi, the envoy of Shandong during the Jiaqing period.

Wang Rubi (1746-1806) character Zhenzhi. Sichuan Tongliang people. Qianlong Qingqian was a soldier for thirty-one years. Jiaqing was promoted to Shandong for four years. Five years later, he moved to Jiangsu as a political envoy, and was appointed as an inspector of Anhui and a waiter in the Punishment Department. He is the author of the Twenty-five Volumes of the Collected Poems of the TongliangShanren.

In his "Collected Poems of the Tongliang Mountain People", there is a poem "Furong Street Treading Snow and Rhymes with the Word "Stepping"":

Cracked bamboo slammed the wind, and the Taiping drum sounded.

The slush is a foot deep, and the wax sands and red skirts are intertwined.

The sixth street is full of ice and ice like a canal.

The closed door pipe is cold and cold, and the frozen man allows the water to bump.

Quite smell of flower market Tang blossoms, rat aunt graceful peach.

Qingyang Lavender, Cranberry Hair Hidden Aina.

When he came to visit, three hundred green money could not answer.

The ceiling is piled up, and the son's residence should be laughed.

Chemical industry has no heart to be taida, and it is inexhaustible to pick up.

The cold lights of the night make friends, and who sings and steps on the arms.

The earth cow came late, and the sound of spring was moving.

Wang Rubi was promoted to envoy of Shandong in March of the fourth year of Jiaqing, and left his post a year later. This poem was written on the eve of the fifteenth day of the first month of the fifth year of Jiaqing (1800).

The first sentence, "Split bamboo bang wind and wind, Taiping drum beating sound", Taiping drum, also known as wax drum. Sheepskin drums. Folk entertainment customs in northern China. The old calendar month is used for song and dance performances to pray for blessings and peace. In the whole sentence, firecrackers roared, gongs and drums were sonorous, and although it was a harsh winter wind, the cheerful and enthusiastic Taiping Drum Performance was grandly staged in Furong Street.

Next is the situation of the audience: "The slush is a foot deep and deep, the wax sandals and red dresses are intertwined", in the deep snow, countless scholars and women come to the snow, rubbing shoulders, full of interest, all kinds of sounds intertwined together, the scene is grand and spectacular, a popular world of flowers and flowers!

Below, the poet opens a stroke, from the cold weather to the Tang flower (that is, the Tang flower) of the Jinan Flower Market. It is cold in the north, and the flowers sold in the waxing moon are used for the New Year, out of the greenhouse, called Tang Flowers) are blooming, although it is graceful but expensive, it is not as good as the snow like "ceiling", and the "Qiong Yao" world that is piled up under the whole world is beautiful!

Then the poet's narrative returns to Furong Street: "The cold lights of the night make friends, who sings and steps with their arms", "divides friends", groups; group games, obviously the interest of the game has reached the extreme, at this time, even the poet can't help but hold hands with his friends, and sing and dance.

Finally, a colorful passage of a big drama finally appears, "How late is the arrival of the earth cow, a spring sound", the earth cow, a cow made of clay; the ancients unearthed cattle in the twelfth month of the lunar calendar to remove yin qi. Later, in the spring, earth cattle were built to persuade farming, symbolizing the beginning of spring ploughing.

The word "彳亍" cleverly portrays the clumsy and cute posture of the earth cow swaying, full of humor, and the earth cow appears, making the popularity of Furong Street reach the extreme. Although it is a cold winter month, the breath of spring and the sound of spring have filled thousands of households in Jinan.

Taiping drums, the audience's group song and dance, the earth cow performance... Furong Street has become a venue for various cultural and festive activities such as game accompaniment and folklore performances.
