Every day, children learn a historical story - Cangjie made characters

author:Miracle Boy

Cangjie was the yellow emperor's historian, and he used the ancestral method of chronicles to record historical facts for the Yellow Emperor. Over time, Junko was covered with knots, and even Cangjie himself could not distinguish the meaning of each knot.

In desperation, Cangjie had to find another way, he used different colors of shells instead of knots, so as to avoid large areas of confusion. When he first began to use shells to record things, Cangjie recorded various affairs very clearly, which was deeply appreciated by the Yellow Emperor, so the Yellow Emperor put him in charge of the records.

Once, the Yellow Emperor asked Cangjie to sort out the number and evidence that the Yandi tribe had killed the yellow emperor tribesmen in recent years. After receiving the order, Cangjie ran to the warehouse and took out the knots and shells that recorded such things. However, since the time has passed for a long time, many of the things recorded by the knots and shells have been forgotten. The Yellow Emperor was very unhappy and criticized Cangjie fiercely, and Cangjie's mistakes caused great losses to the tribe, so he always felt guilty.

Therefore, Cangjie made up his mind that he must find a way to change this situation, and he could not allow himself to make this mistake again. How can we not make mistakes?

One day, he was participating in a tribal collective charm hunt, and when he came to a fork in the road, several hunters began to argue over which way to go. One hunter insisted on going east, saying there were cold sheep; one hunter was going north, saying that the tigers could be chased not far ahead; and one hunter was going west, saying that there were two tigers, and if they were not killed in time, they would pose a great threat to the tribe. Cangjie heard their quarrel and thought it strange, how did they know what animals were on every road? With doubts, Cangjie asked the hunters for advice, who told him that different animals have different footprints, and based on the footprints, they can judge where there is prey and what prey. Cangjie's heart suddenly became kind: "Since a footprint is a beast, why can't I use symbols to represent what I manage?" ”

He happily pulled out his legs and ran home, and began to imitate the form of the creatures, creating various symbols to represent things. For the convenience of calling them, he named the symbols "characters". The word "day" was created by him according to the shape of the sun's circle and its luminous appearance; the word "moon" was created by him after he saw the crescent moon and according to the form of the crescent moon; the word "water" was created by him observing the form of flowing water... These fonts are more graphic, so it is easier to remember.

After meeting the Yellow Emperor, Cangjie told the Yellow Emperor about the characters he had created.

The Yellow Emperor was very happy after hearing this, and ordered Cangjie to teach those words to the people of various tribes. In this way, the characters created by Cangjie spread among the Yellow Emperor tribe and spread throughout the land of China.
