The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took their first public trip to New York together — their first major outing since the birth of their daughter.

Megan said it was "fantastic to be back in the city" when they visited 9/11-related locations in the month of the 20th anniversary of the attack.

They will attend an event in New York this weekend urging leaders to adopt a vaccine fair policy.

Three months ago, the couple welcomed their second child, Lilibet Diana.

They are also the parents of their son Archie, who turned two years old in May.

During their visit to New York, they visited One World Trade Center, built on the site of the Twin Towers destroyed in the Sept. 11 attack.

They took a group photo with New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and New York Governor Kathy Hochul at the top of the skyscraper.

Later, the couple, who have lived in California since the beginning of the pandemic, paid their respects at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza. They overlooked the reflecting pool where a tower was located and visited the 9/11 Memorial Museum.

The couple resigned as senior royals in March 2020, waving to fans who shouted their names as they left the scene.

Mr. Deshow tweeted: "The tragedy of September 11 touched the whole world and can still be felt today.

"We are honoured to be with Prince Harry and The Duke and Duchess Of Sussex Meghan at the One World Observatory."

On Saturday, they will take part in a 24-hour live global citizen show in places like New York's Central Park.

Global Citizen has organized many performances in cities around the world, from London to Lagos, with performing artists including Sir Elton John, Kylie Minogue and Coldplay.

The Duke and Duchess have been defending vaccine fairness, and Harry said at the awards ceremony earlier this month that "we are all at risk" before everyone can be vaccinated.

He presented the award to the team behind the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine at the GQ event, where he blamed vaccine hesitation on "massive misinformation.".
