A batch of imported candy colorants exceeded the standard at weihai port and have been destroyed

Weihai Qilu Network June 2 news (reporter Teng Jialei correspondent Cong Chen Zuo Zhaoxue) Recently, when the inspection and quarantine department of Weihai in Shandong Province inspected imported prepackaged food, it was found that the content of the colorant erythrosite in a batch of marshmallows imported from South Korea exceeded the standard. According to the "National Standard for Food Safety" (GB2760-2014) stipulates that the maximum use of red moss red and its aluminum lake in candy is 0.05g/kg, and the detection amount of candy red is 0.079g/kg, which exceeds China's limit requirements. After the inspection and quarantine department confirms the test results, it immediately orders the importing enterprise to destroy the batch of unqualified products.

Red moss is a synthetic pigment that is widely added to processed foods such as candies, condiments and beverages because of its bright color, good coloring power and high stability. However, excessive intake of erythrospocene is potentially harmful to human health. According to research, long-term excessive intake of erythrosperm can affect the human nervous system, easy to cause undesirable symptoms such as hyperactivity and inattention; in addition, edible synthetic pigments may also be mixed with pollutants lead and arsenic in the production process, and excessive intake can cause damage to nerves, hematopoiesis and other systems. Children in the growth and development period have a lower metabolic capacity for toxic substances than adults, and the function of organs in the body is relatively fragile. Therefore, if the unqualified candy enters the market, the harm to children is even more serious.

The inspection and quarantine department recommends that importers pay close attention to the quality and safety of imported food and earnestly fulfill the main responsibility of food safety; at the same time, consumers are reminded that when purchasing imported candy, they must choose products imported and sold through formal channels, and if necessary, they can ask for the "Inspection and Quarantine Certificate of Imported Goods" of the product.
