Fanyang is an ancient Chinese place name and administrative division name. Fan Yang's area under its jurisdiction changed a lot in history, about the northern junction of present-day Beijing And Baoding, Hebei Province. From the fourth year of the Tang Dynasty (769), the so-called "Fanyang" was limited to Fanyang County, Zhuozhou, which was the seat of zhuozhou, in present-day Zhuozhou. Fan Yang in a broad sense is sometimes common to Youzhou.

History of Fanyang
In the 21st year of the reign of The Prince of Qin (226 BC), Fan Zhengyang County was established, named after the north of Fan Shui, and its jurisdiction was in the territory of present-day Dingxing County, and the seat of government was in the ancient city (present-day Gucheng Town, Dingxing County). Subsequently, it was successively renamed Shunyin County (Wang Mang's New Dynasty), Fan Zhengyang Marquis (Eastern Han), FanyangGuo, Fan Zhengyang County (Three Kingdoms), Fanyang County (Northern Wei), Fan Zhengyang County (Sui), Fanyang County, Fanyang Jiedushi, Youzhou (Tang), etc., with various names alternately used and the jurisdiction changing repeatedly. In the second year of Ming Hongwu (1369), Fanyang County was abolished and merged into Zhuozhou.

On the ninth day of November of the fourteenth year of Tianbao of the Tang Dynasty (December 16, 755), An Lushan, who was also the envoy of Fanyang, Pinglu, and Hedong, took advantage of the internal emptiness and corruption of the Tang Dynasty to form a total of 150,000 soldiers, claiming 200,000, under the pretext of "worrying about the danger of the country" and attacking Yang Guozhong under secret edicts, and launched an anti-Tang war in Fanyang, and the "Anshi Rebellion" broke out. This historical event is called "Fan Yang's Rising Army" in history.

The area around Fanyang is the birthplace of many famous and prestigious families in history. During the Two Jin Dynasties, after many wang clans in the north crossed south, a considerable number of them still called Fanyang the place of their ancestral home. Among them, there are mainly: (1) Lu surname, the Famous Fanyang Lu clan of the Northern Wei Dynasty is derived from this, and the famous figures include Lu Zhi, a great Confucian at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Lu Sidao, a poet of the Northern Dynasty and Sui Dynasty, Lu Zhaolin, one of the four masters of the Early Tang Dynasty, Lu Lun, one of the "Ten Talents of the Great Calendar", Master Huineng of the Six Ancestors, and Lu Xiangsheng, a famous general of the Ming Dynasty. In present-day Zhuozhou City, there is the Lu Clan Ancestral Hall. (2) The hall name of the Zou surname, the Jian surname, and the Yan surname is Fanyang Tang, which is derived from this. (3) Yuan surname, Shao surname. (4) Ancestral surnames, of which Zu Chongzhi and Zu Di are derived from this. (5) Dong surname, according to the Tang Dynasty's "Yuan He Surname Compilation", Fan Yang is one of the Dong surname Junwang.
