72-year-old Cai Zhizhong, born in 1948 in Changhua, Taiwan, is a well-known comic artist at home and abroad. After dropping out of school at the age of 15, he went to Taipei alone, stepped out of his independent life, and began a career in comic writing. In 1971, he became the TV art director of Kokisha, and in 1977, he started from scratch and founded the Far East Cartoon Company. In 1981, another dragon cartoon company was created, during which cartoon movies such as "Colorful Cartoon Old Master" and "Oolong Courtyard" were filmed, and "Old Master" won the Golden Horse Award for Best Cartoon Feature Film. Although many people are surprised that Cai Zhizhong has ordained his life in the Shaolin Temple, it is actually reasonable to review his fate with the Shaolin Temple.

"In fact, as early as 30 years ago, I became acquainted with the Songshan Shaolin Temple, in 1984 I was painting the Six Ancestral Altar Sutra in Tokyo, Japan, when the Tokyo Ikebukuro Theater was staging Jet Li's "Shaolin Temple", after watching the movie, I secretly decided that I would have the opportunity to make animation shaolin temples in the future. At that time, I drew a four-panel humorous comic strip of the Shaolin Temple. On May 4, 2014, when Cai Zhizhong rushed to the Shaolin Temple to attend the launch of the 3D animated film "Kung Fu Shaolin Temple", he said in an interview with a reporter from Mammoth News Oriental Today.

A sentence from six years ago is a reality today.

It is worth noting that Cai Zhizhong was ordained at the Shaolin Temple, received the "Shami Ordination", and has since become a "Shami" instead of a "bhikkhu". What is the reason for this?

In an interview with a reporter from Mammoth News Oriental Today, a person from the Shaolin Temple explained that a man under the age of twenty became a monk, commonly known as a "little monk." If one wants to become a "shami," one needs to take the Ten Precepts. All children who become monks are "Shami". If a monk is more than seventy years old, he or she is not allowed to take the "full ordination", but can only take the "Shami ordination" and become a "Shami", but cannot officially become a "bhikkhu". Obviously, Mr. Cai Zhizhong is 72 years old, more than the "legal" age, and can only be "Shami" ordained as "Shami".

The person further explained that the Buddhist "full ordination" is the precepts held by bhikkhus and bhikshunis, because these precepts are sufficient compared to the ten precepts, so they are called "sufficient vows." The entry on "sufficient ordination", although it varies from place to place, is generally the same. According to the Law of Four Divisions, there are 250 "full vows" for "bhikshus" and 348 "full vows" for "bhikshunis." The ritual of receiving the "full ordination" in the Shaolin Temple is often performed at the Three Altars of Great Ordination.

Whether it is "Shami" who has received the "Shami Ordination" or the "Bhikshu" or "Bhikshuni" who have received the "Full Ordination", they are all monks of the Shaolin Temple and practice in the monastery.
