Here, the character's action behavior is suddenly reversed, unexpected, this epiphany change of action is difficult to write, and the screenwriter needs to carefully lay the groundwork and build up the momentum in front. In this explosive escalation of picking up a submachine gun to shoot at the police, there is a part of his pathos, his sense of fatalism, his own identity confusion and identity split and identity split.
Like the Coen brothers, Du Qifeng also prefers chance. This rumor was very lethal, and it was as terrible as the rumor that the three thieves were going to join forces to commit crimes. The reality of this film and the story actually appear in an isomorphic situation, which is strange enough.
The last scene of the film shows the choreographer's ability to weave a narrative and the understanding of the absurdity of life, Guangzhou is full of wind, and the three thieves pass by by chance, and they do not know each other. Perhaps the rumors that the three of them want to join forces to do a big case originated from here in Qingping. Ji Zhengxiong was a provincial Andang flag soldier who had come to help fight the robbery, and Ye Guohuan was drunk by corrupt officials on the mainland and vomited in the toilet, and when he came to the dinner table, he couldn't help but continue to vomit; Zhuo Ziqiang opened the box room and complained to the waiter, "Eat and drink!" The three of them never knew each other, and in a not-so-long traverse shot, they glanced at each other completely indifferently.
This scene is more tense than the gun battle surface, writing a fear of contingency. Although this film is only produced by Du Qifeng, this scene is Du Qifeng's signature sense of fatalism and despair, which is the signature of the gorgeous, dark, and flower-style author of Du's family that I admire.
The story ends at the Rooftop House in Hong Kong, where Ji Zhengxiong was arrested, when the SWAT team that came to arrest Ji Zhengxiong encountered a TV antenna, and there was an image on the TV in the room. It turned out that this day was July 1, 1997.
