Why did Song Yingzong, whose original name was Zhao Zongshi, later changed his name to Zhao Shu?

author:Pick up some Chinese studies

In the TV series "Qing Ping Le", Song Renzong found that Hui Rou and Cao Ping still had contacts, and he was furious, and then asked Liang Huaiji why he wanted to hide it, and whether he was coerced and tempted?

In the end, Liang Huaiji said the three objects of doubt in his heart: the empress, the Cao family, and the thirteen regiments. The first two are clear to everyone, but who is the third "Thirteen Regiment Training"?

Why did Song Yingzong, whose original name was Zhao Zongshi, later changed his name to Zhao Shu?

In fact, the "Thirteen Regiments Training" refers to Song Yingzong Zhao Shu. Song Renzong, who had been emperor for forty-two years, had three sons die prematurely, and in the end no one succeeded to the throne, and only one of them could be succeeded from the near branch of the clan, that is, the later Song Yingzong Zhao Shu.

Zhao Shu (赵曙), real name Zhao Zongshi (赵宗實), great-grandson of Zhao Guangyi (赵光義) of Emperor Taizong of Song, thirteenth son of Zhao Yunrang the Prince of Pu, nicknamed Thirteen. After being made crown prince, in order to distinguish himself from his brother's lineage, and of course, it was convenient for the common people to avoid it, so he changed his name to Zhao Shu.

Royal succession was not uncommon in the Song Dynasty.

Emperor Zhenzong of Song was childless at the beginning, and sent someone to take his nephew Zhao Yun rang to his side and raise him as a prince. After the birth of his own son Renzong, he sent his nephew back to his younger brother Zhao Yuanfen's mansion.

Now, Song Renzong, who is in his prime, has no children under his knees, so who will these three thousand miles of rivers and mountains be handed over to? He asked Empress Yang for instructions and prepared to welcome one of his cousin Zhao Yun(劉允讓) from among his sons.

Mainly to make up for the embarrassment of Zhenzong's "welcome and return" in that year, followed by the fact that King Pu had many heirs, with 22 sons alone.

When Empress Yang went to the Pu King's Mansion to select the "Crown Prince", she did not find a suitable candidate until dark, so she was preparing to return. Just at this moment, Yingzong, who was only four years old, was not among the candidates, but somehow climbed to the screen next to the empress dowager's car, and Empress Yang was shocked to see it: "It is a deaf ear alone." The servants who were preparing to send the empress dowager back to the palace all laughed, so Empress Yang picked up Emperor Yingzong and took him back to the palace and raised him by Empress Cao.

Why did Song Yingzong, whose original name was Zhao Zongshi, later changed his name to Zhao Shu?

This Empress Cao was the granddaughter of the founding general Cao Bin, who regarded Yingzong as her own and carefully raised her. Emperor Renzong also liked Emperor Yingzong very much, and because Emperor Yingzong ranked thirteenth, he and Empress Cao called Xiaoyingzong "thirteen".

Empress Cao's sister had a daughter, nicknamed Tao Tao, who was also raised by Empress Cao in the palace, and was exactly the same age as Emperor Yingzong. As a result, Yingzong and Taotao Qingmei Bamboo Horse, their feelings are naturally different from others.

Later, Emperor Renzong began to favor Zhang Guifei, and Zhang Guifei successively gave birth to two princesses for Emperor Renzong.

Therefore, Emperor Renzong thought that Zhang Guifei would give birth to a prince for himself again, so he sent Yingzong and Tao Tao back to each of the main houses. Who knows, Zhang Guifei, who is only thirty-one years old, has died in the future.

In the end, Emperor Renzong was still childless at his knees, and he felt very desolate, according to Shao Bowen's "Shao Clan Smells the Most": (Renzong) said to Empress Cao: "My husband and wife are childless, the old ones are thirteen, and Tao Tao (Tao Tao), each of whom has grown up to be the thirteenth and then married to Tao Tao, so that they can marry each other." "Honor the Holy Order, the thirteen who have left the palace and Tao Tao Xi made Mandarin ducks." For a time, the palace praised the matter, saying that "the son of heaven takes a wife, and the queen marries a daughter."

After Yingzong was sent back to his home in that year, he successively served as a regimental training envoy in Yuezhou and a defense envoy in Qinzhou. A year before Emperor Renzong's death, Emperor Yingzong became crown prince. After Emperor Renzong's death, Emperor Yingzong succeeded to the throne with the support of Empress Cao and the chancellors of the court. Tao Tao was also naturally made empress.

Tao Tao has a high surname and a strong personality, and is not the kind of woman who can be hidden. In particular, after giving birth to four sons and four daughters for Emperor Yingzong, Empress Gao, citing Emperor Yingzong's infirmity, did not allow Emperor Yingzong to choose concubines. In the end, even Empress Cao could not watch it, according to Cai Qi's "Discussion on the Tiewei Mountain": (Empress Cao asked people to bring words to Empress Gao) "The official family has been on the throne for a long time. Now that the holy body is healed, how can there be no servant of the Emperor? Empress Gao listened, very unhappy, and replied: "Lady Taizhi, the bride must marry the 'Thirteen Regiments practice' ear, that is, she has not married his official family." The gist was that when he first married Zhao Zongshi, he was not an official, and at that time he was just a "thirteen regiment training".

Why did Song Yingzong, whose original name was Zhao Zongshi, later changed his name to Zhao Shu?

Later, when this passage reached the outside of the palace, Emperor Yingzong officially had the nickname of "Thirteen Regiments training", and his lack of vigor also became the laughing stock of the scholars.

Fortunately, Emperor Yingzong and Empress Gao were still very affectionate, so it can be said that Song Yingzong has always been very tolerant of Gao Taotao.
