"You look so beautiful, you deserve to be unlucky!"

author:Where Zhang Jiawei wrote

There is a legend in ancient Greece that in the fourth century BC, Frigny of Viotia went to Athens and became a courtesan. She is too beautiful, and the world knows that it also brings her trouble. An old lover had nothing to do and said that she was blasphemous; at trial, her defender orator Hipperides shook her clothes off with a loud cry, and the jurors looked stunned and thought she was beautiful enough to be exonerated—and so she was exonerated.

This is a typical legend of "beauty can get rid of misfortune".

But you must also find a logical problem: what brings her misfortune is not beauty itself?

"You look so beautiful, you deserve to be unlucky!"

As the old Chinese saying goes, red face is short of life, and most beautiful women have to bear something because of beauty. Xi Shi was sent to the Wu Palace because of beauty, Yang Guifei was used as a scapegoat because of beauty, and the sable cicada was fictionalized, but Wang Zhaojun really went to Zitai lianshuo desert.

Red face and thin life.

However, the beauty of thin life is not just women.

During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the Northern Wei general Yang Dayan was brave in the world, burly and heroic, claiming to be able to catch birds by hand, and running with a cloth tied on his head and unable to touch the ground; his wife's surname was Pan, she was a charming beauty, liked to dress up, and went in and out of the military camp with Yang Dayan without any problems. The child was born, called Yang Hua. Mrs. Pan later committed suicide by committing a misdemeanor. Of course, it did not hinder Yang Hua's good looks. The Book of Liang says that Yang Hua "has little courage and a majestic appearance."

And then something went wrong:

According to the original words of the history books, the Northern Wei Empress dowager "forced it" and wanted Yang Hua. The empress dowager fell on purpose, and Yang Hua was ruthless. Yang Hua knew that if he refused, there would be a big problem, so he came, "Afraid of disaster, but led his parts to descend the beam." Yang Dayan fought with Liang all his life, but his son went to Liang, just for the old lady's little lust.

There is a follow-up to this matter. Empress Wei missed Yang Hua for a long time and could not forbid it, so she wrote the "Song of Yang BaiHua", and let the palace ladies hold hands and sing together to comfort Xiang Si, saying: "In February and March of Yang Spring, Yang Liu Qi made flowers, the spring wind entered the boudoir overnight, and the Yang flowers fluttered and fell to the South Family. Weak feet out of the house, picking up the Tears of the Yang Flowers, returning the swallows in the autumn to the spring, and willing to put the Yang flowers into the nest. ”

It sounds very moving, but a big man is called Yang Hua, which is always a little strange.

To put it simply: this is a story of "empress dowager, we do not agree", which eventually led to the defection of the American teenager to the enemy country. You can imagine that Yang Hua must have tried all kinds of methods and could not escape, which is why he made a treasonous strategy. On the other hand, think: The empress dowager is like a wolf like a tiger!

Similar beautiful boy story, there is another one.

When Former Qin's Jian Jian destroyed the Yan state, he captured Murong Chong, the prince of the Yan state: this young master, when he was young, was extremely handsome, and was favored by Jian Jian at the age of twelve. The people of Chang'an all sang: "One female after another, both flew into the Purple Palace." "Female" refers to Murong Chong's sister Princess Qinghe. In this sense, the sisters and brothers served Jian Jian together.

As we all know, Jian Jian relied heavily on his chancellor Wang Meng, and later generations compared liu Bei's love for Zhuge Liangyushui. Wang Meng watched from the sidelines, feeling that there was a big problem with this relationship, and earnestly advised murong Jian to send Murong Chong to live in AfangCheng. The Chang'an people who loved to sing said again: "Fenghuang Fenghuang stop Afang." ”

Jian Jian cared too much about Murong Chong, and felt that the phoenix was too honorable, not sycamore, not to eat bamboo, so outside Afang City, planted hundreds of thousands of sycamore bamboo - for a beloved person to do this, it is really the end.

Of course, the ending of this story is not very good.

Murong Chong raised his troops against Jian Jian and approached Chang'an. At the head of Chang'an City, Jian Jian looked at Murong Chong and could only sigh, "Where did this boy come from, strong and prosperous like this?!" ”

Jian Jian sent emissaries to Murong Chong with a collar of brocade robes, saying that the edict said: "The ancients fought, and the emissaries came and went in the middle. Qing Yuan came to create everything in the beginning, can he not work hard? A collared robe is given as a sign of the original heart. What is the favor of The Qing Dynasty? Overnight, how could such a change occur! At the time of life and death, he also sent robes in an attempt to speak softly, and Murong Chong replied very hard: "Lonely now that his heart is in the world, how can he take care of the small favor of a golden robe?" If he could know the Mandate of Heaven, he could tie his hands, stop the war, and send the emperor out as soon as possible, and naturally forgive the Yuanshi and repay the old good. ”

Their fate was extremely strange: in the autumn of 385, Murong Chong was forced to kill by Yao Cang, and in the same year Murong Chong became emperor. However, less than a year later, Murong Chong was assassinated by his subordinates, and he and Gong Jian, who were happy and bitter, fell in love and killed each other, and the period of death before and after was only a year apart.

It is said that the red face is short life, most of the thin life is coveted because of beauty, so it is unfortunate.

In ancient times, beautiful teenagers were also like beautiful women, and it was easy to encounter all kinds of oppressive pursuits.

It is said that in ancient China, men were inferior to women, and women were mostly playthings, in fact, during the Two Song Dynasties, there were also male prostitutes in Bieliang and Lin'an.

It is worth mentioning that the male prostitutes at this time are mostly similar to the women's names, warblers and swallows.

Some men are very direct, they are directly selling themselves, the so-called "as for men lifting their bodies to lend themselves, they are happy to go in and out." This matter was semi-legal for a while: during the political and political years, Emperor Huizong of Song only allowed himself to prostitute Master Li, and did not allow everyone to go to male prostitutes, stipulating that "men are prostitutes, a hundred rods, and a reward of fifty yuan for informants".

After the Ming Dynasty, good male style became popular among the scholar class. The Ming Dynasty scholar Shen Defu believes that the prohibition of prostitution imposed by the Xuande Emperor played a huge role: officials could not find prostitutes, so they turned to the scourge of male prostitutes. It has never been advocated in the open, and it has never been banned in private.

Probably in their hearts, as long as it does not affect the filial piety and the three queens are greater, then the old man raises a beautiful teenager, and there is no difference between taking a concubine and sleeping a maid - it is still a graceful habit!

Eunuchs or rich families, many children, what is the use? Li Yuji boasted that the two boys in his family were very beautiful, and they were his male favorites.

In "Jin Ping Mei", Ximen Qing has a book boy who comes around in the study. The book boy "mouthed fragrant tea osmanthus cake, and the nose fragrance of the body" was very fat and powdery.

Who said: Same-sex love is normal.

- Not necessarily.

In ancient China, the idea of "homosexuality" was not as strict as it is today, including aesthetically. For those who are good at masculinity, it is more of a hunting sexual habit.

The beautiful teenagers who are favored by them are also distorted: they are not gay partners, but more like male versions of prostitutes or concubines, playthings. Women who become concubines have a bit of status; men who are virgins are still slaves.

It is very bad that these male pets are often substitutes for women in the eyes of the old master, so they are also forced to tend to women aesthetically. A little understanding of modern same-sex love shows that same-sex love is not the same as fat powder.

There is a sentence in Zhang Dai's "Tao An Dream Memories", which is very famous, called "People have no fetish and cannot be intercourse, because they have no affection; people cannot have intercourse without defects, and they are also without true qi." That makes sense in itself.

However, the example after this sentence is not very interesting: it is said that his friend Qi Zhixiang did not abandon his own child Ah Bao. Feelings are commendable, but when describing Ah Bao's appearance:

"Ah Bao is like a woman, and a scoundrel, pretending to be a jerk, refusing to be a man."

Speaking of which, this is still the beautiful teenager according to the image of a beautiful woman.

During the Qianlong years, he once regarded the matter of male style as a crime of debauchery, which was the first time that the ambiguous problem was clarified, but Zheng Banqiao was also reluctant to punish a man because his ass was good-looking.

At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the people held the horns, and the warlords occupied some of the danjiao'er's affairs, and everyone also turned a blind eye and defaulted as a rule. How many pear orchards and tears in the old times are here.

The facts are:

Although we often say that in ancient China, men oppressed mostly women, resulting in red faces and thin lives; but in the era of strict hierarchy, men actually oppressed men: beautiful men also suffered oppression.

In ancient times of universal inequality, everything could be objectified. The powerful look down on civilians, and the industries look down on each other, which can be cruel.

Beautiful teenagers, like beautiful girls, will be objectified because of their beauty, will be controlled, will be distorted, used as playthings, and used as a toy.

In the eyes of the people above, you can be beautiful, you can be useful, you can be a good thing – but when it comes down, you are rarely treated as a complete person.

Many of the so-called winds and even elegance are actually the elegance of the oppressors of the superior. Ordinary persecuted people have actually been working very hard.
