Zhang Ruitu", Taoyuan Xing, cursive, length 31, horizontal 610cm. In this volume, Wang Wei's "Taoyuan Xing", the pen is slightly slower, the momentum is strong, the pen is calm, and the strength is consistent to the end. Avoid the sharpness of habituation, and change to round thickness. However, at the end of the book, his exuberant personality is also very powerful, often a few lines, such as a mourning string, and the voice is full of emotions, which brings his personality, emotions and skills to the extreme. In Zhang Ruitu's calligraphy, this is a wonderful masterpiece.

In the late Ming Dynasty, Zhang Ruitu's position is quite important, and it can be said that he is a sign of the emergence of the new book school of the late Ming Dynasty. In terms of age, he was 15 years younger than Dong Qichang, who was famous at that time, and 19 years younger than Xing Tong, but 15 years older than Zodiac Zhou, 22 years older than Wang Duo, and 23 years older than Ni Yuanlu. At the same time, because of his high-ranking official position and the fame he gained, it was quite influential at that time.
More importantly, if you compare his works with those of his predecessors, the differences are huge and obvious. Whether it is the "Three Song" and "Second Shen" in the early Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yunming and Wen Zhengming in the middle period, or Xing Tong, Dong Qichang and Mi Wanzhong, who are called the "Four Houses" together with Zhang Ruitu, although they all occupy a place in the Ming Dynasty book world with their respective artistic achievements, if we look at the overall stylistic characteristics, the works of these people still belong to the traditional "Two Kings" system.
However, Zhang Ruitu's calligraphy, whether it is appearance or connotation, is very different from his predecessors. The sharp dot painting and the strange stubborn glyph constitute the main theme of the work; the strong sense of force and the turbulent momentum are refreshing and the spirit is invigorated, which is a completely new aesthetic feeling. This is also the common feature of the calligraphy of the subsequent Zodiac Zhou, Wang Duo, Ni Yuanlu and others.
