People have sorrows and joys, and the moon has clouds and sunshine, and this matter is difficult to complete. May people be long-lasting, and thousands of miles will be cherished together."

I really wanted to ride the long wind and return to the Moon Palace, but I was afraid that the jasper building there would be high and cold. In the midst of imaginary dancing, dance to the moon. Qing Ying follows people, as if riding the clouds and the royal wind in the sky, where it is like in the human world!
The moonlight turned through the richly decorated attic, and low through the doors and windows, illuminating the sleepless people inside the windows. Mingyue should not have resentment, but why does it always come true when people leave? In a lifetime, there is the joy of meeting, there is the sadness of parting; a round of moonrise, there is a perfect sunshine, there is a haze of mutilation. This kind of thing has been difficult to do both since ancient times. I hope that people from afar will live a long and healthy life, even if they are thousands of miles apart, we can bathe in the glory of the bright moon together!

The poem was written in the ninth year of The Song Dynasty (1076). During the Mid-Autumn Festival of that year, Su Shi served as a Taishou in Mizhou (密州, in present-day Zhucheng, Shandong Province), and had been separated from his younger brother Su Rui for seven years, and could not help but think of Yueren. Coupled with the unsatisfactory career, he did his best to lyrically, singing drunk, and wrote this famous poem that has been passed down through the ages.
