Stephen Curry broke the Warriors' new record, but it wasn't his shot

Stephen Curry may be the Golden State Warriors' greatest player of all time. He broke all shooting records. Now, the legendary point guard has set a new record.

Stephen Curry broke the Warriors' new record, but it wasn't his shot

According to Warriors PR, Curry has already picked up the 5,000th assist of his career. He is the only player in the history of the team to reach this level.

Curry's 5,000th assist came with five minutes left in the warriors' second quarter against the Sacramento Kings. After a King player missed a shot, Curry passed the ball to Damien Lee to earn an open-slot conversion three-pointer.

Curry is known for his prolific shots. After all, it's the guy who doubled the three-point record in a single season and then continued to break that record the following year. There is no doubt that the Warriors legend is the greatest shooter of all time.

However, an underrated aspect of Curry's game is his ability to organize offense. He's by no means a passing guru like LeBron James or Magic Johnson. However, years of the trio have allowed the Warriors guard to hone his passing skills, making him an elite organizational core. When the team is too harsh on Stephen Curry, he can get a lot of assists. His passing and scoring abilities make him a dangerous opponent for other teams.

The Warriors hope to return to the championship race this season. With Klay Thompson on the verge of returning, Curry and his teammates are ready to make a splash in the playoffs. Curry hasn't finished his record-breaking job yet, at least not in the short term. Maybe, just maybe, this record-breaking binge will be the motivation they need to win the entire season.
