Douglas: The experience at the CBA was great

On August 14, Beijing time, Tony Douglas recently accepted an interview with the media, saying that his experience playing in the Chinese CBA League was great.

Douglas played in 12 games for the Pelicans last season, averaging 4.3 points and 2 assists per game, and before joining the Pelicans, he averaged 19.1 points per game for jiangsu in the CBA.

"It was a great experience [playing in the CBA], a completely different experience, playing there wasn't as bad as people think, and I knew then I was going to come back to the league." Douglas said.

Douglas had previously signed with the Pacers, and the two sides signed a contract with a partial guarantee amount.

"I can defend and I can shoot and score, and we haven't talked about the specifics of what I'm going to do with the Pacers, but I'm here for a reason, and once the training camp starts, I'll show people what they're capable of." Douglas said.

Downey Walsh played a key role in helping Douglas sign the Pacers, believing Douglas was a great defender but needed to find the right opportunities.

Walsh, who worked at the Knicks, has previously worked with Douglas, who is now an adviser to the Pacers.

"Douglas is good, he's capable enough to get him a job in the NBA, he's a good Fit for the Pacers, he's a good guy." Walsh said.

Walsh said Douglas didn't show defensive ability when he was in the Knicks, and that was because Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni didn't emphasize that at the time.

Douglas is also happy with his reunion with Walsh, saying: "I love Walsh, he's always great, I loved him when I was at the Knicks, he's great here, I trust him, he's not going to lie to you, he'll keep you feeling authentic and tell you what you need to do. ”

So far in his career, Douglas has played for six NBA teams, averaging 7.6 points per game.

Douglas, who is now hoping to get another chance at the Pacers, said: "Anything happens for a reason, I'm healthy now, I know I can play, sometimes things don't go the way you want it to, but it doesn't always happen that way. ”
