Editor's Note
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Chinese Volunteers' going abroad to fight in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. At that time, along with the rumbling of artillery, a large number of military songs related to the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, such as "The Battle Song of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army" and "I Am a Soldier," rushed out, and a wave of anger burst out from the song. Fu Gengchen, a famous composer, made this appraisal: "The Three Years' War produced many songs, which are the voice of the volunteer army, the voice of the people of the motherland, the voice of the Chinese nation's strong and unyielding march forward, and the reproduction of the splendid culture and great spirit of the Chinese nation in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea." These songs inspired and inspired the vast number of commanders and fighters of the volunteer army to overcome difficulties and obstacles and finally win the war. ”
Loud and pleasant, exciting, the People's Liberation Army Daily WeChat will successively launch a series of articles on "Classic Songs of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea" to review with you those inspiring songs of that year.
The classic film "Heroes and Children" was filmed by Changchun Film Studio in 1964. The film is adapted from Ba Jin's novel "Reunion", directed by Wu Zhaodi, and written by Mao Feng and Wu Zhaodi. Liu Shilong, Liu Shangxian, Tian Fang, Guo Zhenqing and other starring. The film tells the story of the volunteer soldier Wang Cheng's sacrifice during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, his sister Wang Fang, with the help of political commissar Wang Wenqing, insisted on fighting, and finally reunited with her adoptive father Wang Fubiao and her biological father Wang Wenqing on the Korean battlefield. Wang Cheng and Wang Fang became idols worshipped by people at that time and influenced generations of Chinese people.
"Heroes and Children" also has a famous interlude, which can be said to have been sung for decades. This is the "Hero Hymn", the lyricist is Gong mu, the lyricist of "The March of the Chinese People's Liberation Army", and the composer is Liu Chi.
The lyricist Gongmu is a poet with a deep cultivation of classical poetry. The lyrics of "Chinese People's Liberation Army March" are from his pen. Gongmu wrote the lyrics of this "Hero Hymn" in a condensed, majestic, and passionate way.
Lyrics of "Hymn to heroes"
Smoke billows and sings heroes,
The green mountains on all sides listen to the side, the side ears listen,
Thunder rings the golden drum on a sunny day,
The sea waves make harmony,
The people's warrior drives the tiger and the leopard,
Sacrifice life and death to preserve peace.
Why the battle flag is picturesque,
The hero's blood stained it red,
Why is the earth always springing,
The life of a hero blossoms!
The hero jumped out of the trenches,
An electric light cracks the long sky, cracks the long sky,
The ground sinks into the single block,
The sky fell down with one hand,
Two feet roaring on the fire,
Shimmering rainbows.
A roar of cannon rumbled,
Overturning the river and the sea and the earth collapsing, the heavens and the earth collapsing,
Hands clutching the blaster,
Furious eyes spitting fire and blood rushing,
The enemy rots and turns to dirt,
Warriors glorify Venus.
Composer Liu Chi is a composer we are familiar with. He used the two musical works of the Inner Mongolia Islamic League Wushen Banner folk song "Bartol Taotaohu" and the cello song "Dusk Scenery" as the basic musical materials for the main song part of "Hero Praise". Among them, "Battle Tao Tao Hu" was collected by Liu Chi in 1940 when he went to Yike Zhaomeng to collect wind. Battle means "hero" in Mongolian, and Tao Tao Hu is a personal name, also known as "Hero Tao Tao Hu".
Liu Chi composed countless compositions in his lifetime, but the most famous three capitals are the movie interlude: "The Flowers of the Motherland" interlude "Let's Swing the Double Oar", "Shangganling" interlude "My Motherland", "Hero Children" interlude "Hero Praise". People say that you can not know Liu Chi, but you cannot not know these three songs.
After the songwriting was completed that year, in order to select actors to sing this song, a special actor selection group was set up, and the songwriters of "Hero Hymn" were among them, and it was finally determined that Zhang Yingzhe, a soloist of the Cultural and Labor Troupe of the Political Department of the Air Force, sang "Hero Hymn".
After the movie "Heroes and Children" was released nationwide, it caused a warm response among the audience, and Wang Cheng's name and "Hero Praise" resounded throughout the country. Liu Shangxian, a young actress at Bayi Film Studio, is well known for playing the heroine Wang Fang in the movie "Heroes and Children", but it has been little known who the original singer of the interlude "Hero Hymn" in the film is. Due to the opposition to individual "fame and family" at that time, Zhang Yingzhe's name was not subtitled in the movie.
In the early 90s of the last century, some media published a manuscript of Shougang workers looking for the original singer of "Hero Hymn", and Zhang Yingzhe did not come out to "claim" after seeing it. Because she is a person who does not like to be publicity, coupled with her poor health, she has not entered people's sight. It wasn't until 2003 that Liu Shangxian and Zhang Yingzhe, who had not met for more than 40 years, finally met at the awards party of the 6th CCTV Military Song Contest. The "heroic" sisters, who have mixed feelings, hugged each other tightly in the applause.
Like "My Motherland", "Hero's Hymn" has once again won the love of hundreds of millions of people, and many soprano singers regard it as a solo reserved program that reflects their artistic level. From 1964 to the present, "Hymn to heroes" has withstood the test of more than 50 years, and this beautiful lyrical and imposing song has become a banner that inspires people to carry forward the spirit of heroism.
