On 16 April, the Hohhot City Intermediate People's Court pronounced a verdict in the first instance trial of the "Tianjiao Garden 12.17" case, in which the defendant Li Pengfei was convicted of intentional homicide, robbery, and theft, and was punished for several crimes in accordance with the law, sentenced to death, deprived of political rights for life, and fined 11,000 yuan. Defendant Li Pengfei said in court that he would not appeal.
