On the morning of May 26th, the 2nd Yunnan Provincial Primary School Students Wildlife Painting Competition, jointly sponsored by Yunnan Wild Animal Park and Bee Newspaper, was held at the award ceremony of Yunnan Wildlife Park. More than 400 award-winning teachers, students, parents, and media reporters gathered at the award ceremony to witness the announcement of the award with the animal stars.

Early in the morning, there was a long line of sign-in queues, and the participants of this competition covered Kunming, Qujing, Yuxi, Honghe, Pu'er, Baoshan, Chuxiong, Dehong, Diqing, Lincang, Wenshan, Xishuangbanna and other more than a dozen prefectures and cities, and many teachers and students from Mojiang County, Tonghai County, Songming County and other places rushed to Yunnan Wildlife Park to participate in the award ceremony.
The children present received a large gift package. The gift package includes a competition commemorative badge, a painting pencil, a special eraser for custom painting, milk, a lottery ticket, a natural class voucher for Yunnan Wild Animal Park, and a ticket redemption voucher for free admission to the park on the same day.
A signature wall was set up next to the check-in desk, and children scrambled to sign their names on the signature wall.
The scene also arranged a display area for outstanding award-winning works, where children exchanged their experiences, shared their painting experiences, and took photos with their own works.
The plant knocking experience area brought by the Ministry of Science and Education of Yunnan Wildlife Park attracted the attention of many children, and everyone started to knock up and create their own knocking and dyeing works.
At the award ceremony, a 100-meter-long scroll was specially set up for children to paint on the spot, and the children showed their painting talents and fantastic ideas on the canvas. Children from different regions and different schools used their paintbrushes to paint a beautiful picture of harmonious coexistence between humans and animals, which was praised by parents and teachers on the spot.
The activity officially began at 9:30 and was presided over by Zhou Ying, manager of the Ministry of Education of Science Popularization of Yunnan Wildlife Park.
Xu Zhengliang, Deputy General Manager of Mekong Tourism Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Yunnan Wild Animal Park Co., Ltd., delivered a speech and extended a warm welcome to the guests on behalf of Yunnan Wildlife Park.
Tang Shunjiang, vice president of the comic party magazine and editor-in-chief of Bee Newspaper, delivered a speech and gave a brief introduction to the competition.
Yang Shitang, a member of the Yunnan Provincial Artists Association, a member of the China Children's Plastic Arts Society, and the president of the Yapeng Calligraphy and Painting Institute (Tian Yingzhang Kunming Academy), as the representative of the expert judges, explained the selection process and selection criteria of the competition.
The 2nd Yunnan Provincial Primary School Wildlife Painting Competition was launched on December 22, 2017, and the submission channel was closed until March 31, 2018. A total of 11,690 entries were contested. After the pre-selection of the participating schools, a total of 2234 works were sent to the "Bee Newspaper" for preliminary evaluation. After preliminary evaluation, 235 works to be awarded were produced. From the re-evaluation of 235 works to be awarded, 80 outstanding works were selected for online voting. The votes were released in three groups at the same time, using the Official WeChat voting system, one person had one voting right, and the total number of votes was 86565 votes. In the final evaluation process, adhering to the principles of fairness, fairness and openness, 4 expert group judges and 4 coordination group judges jointly participated, and 5 first prizes, 10 second prizes, 20 third prizes and 200 excellent awards were selected by comprehensively considering the theme, artistry, originality and network popularity of the works.

"There are many wonderful works emerging in this competition, some full of innocence and childlike fun, some showing good artistic literacy, some full of whimsy and creativity, which fully reflects the extraordinary artistic standards and artistic comprehension ability of children across Yunnan, expresses the good wishes of harmonious development between man and nature, and shows the enthusiasm of children to embrace nature and care for wild animals." Teacher Yang Shitang spoke highly of the competition and expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the winning children.
The young contestant who won the first prize, Wang Yuhan from Panlong Primary School, spoke and shared her creative experience with everyone. She said that when she visited the park, she made meticulous observations of the animals and portrayed them with a passion and love for protecting wild animals and being close to nature.
Subsequently, the event entered the award ceremony. Wang Ying, director of the editorial department of Bee Newspaper, and Yang Baiyang, deputy manager of the marketing department of Yunnan Wild Animal Park, presented the outstanding guidance teacher award. At the award ceremony, animal stars such as alpacas and parrots also helped.

Yang Shitang, the representative of the jury, and Chen Kai, editor of Bee Newspaper, presented awards to the students who won the third prize. They received a half-year card for Yunnan Wildlife Park and a commemorative doll for star animals.
Wang Ying, director of the editorial department of Bee Newspaper, and Su Peng, marketing director of Yunnan Wildlife Park, presented awards to the students who won the second prize. They received an annual pass for yunnan wildlife park, an ostrich eggshell souvenir, and a star animal commemorative doll.

The award-winning outstanding paintings will also have the opportunity to be selected for the 2019 Yunnan Provincial Wildlife Protection Theme Annual Calendar, and display and publicize to the public in the province.
The event also interspersed the award process with a surprise lottery link, led by Zhao Xuechao, a nature tutor of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Wildlife Park, led by the parrot and the "eagle brother" to draw a lucky prize, and the winning children won the value of the wildlife park nature classroom experience ticket.
After the award ceremony, the children successively entered the park to "close contact" with wild animals, and the students who won the first, second and third prizes led by teachers from the Ministry of Science and Education of the Wildlife Park to observe and understand the wild animals in detail.
The second wildlife painting competition was successfully concluded, and the teachers and students looked forward to the next competition with excitement and reluctance.
