In the early morning of February 22, Ai Dong, a 45-year-old police officer of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau's Legal Corps, closed his eyes forever, and he had been busy fighting for the "epidemic", leaving in a hurry and leaving no word.

In the past 24 years since Ai Dong participated in public security work, he has been awarded the third class merit of the individual 3 times, won the commendation 8 times, and in 2019, he was named the annual "Star of the Legal System" of the capital public security. Since the Spring Festival this year, he has been working overtime and busy on the front line of the fight against the epidemic. On February 15, Ai Dong suddenly suffered from acute cerebral hemorrhage, and died on the 22nd after ineffective rescue.

Ai Dong also has another identity - the nephew of the battle hero Dong Cunrui. In the battlefield of fighting the epidemic, Ai Dong passed on the heroic spirit with his life.

"Be self-motivated at work, have high requirements for yourself, rush up at critical moments, and don't embarrass your uncle." This was what Ai Dong's mother used to say to him.

Ai Dong comes from a heroic family, and his uncle is Dong Cunrui, a combat hero who died heroically in the Liberation War. Ai Dong's parents are also very strict with their children. Influenced by the education of his parents and family, the excellent traditions and red genes of the older generation have taken root in Ai Dong from an early age. After growing up, Ai Dong became a people's policeman through his own efforts. The phrase "we must be able to rush up at the critical moment" has also become a responsibility that melts into his blood.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic prevention and control war, the 12345 branch center of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau has arranged personnel to be on duty around the clock to receive and handle telephone dispatches. As the person in charge, Ai Dong led everyone to sort out the telephone dispatches involving the epidemic every day, keep an eye on the results of the handling one by one, adhere to the "first time transfer, the first time feedback", actively promote the resolution of appeals, ensure that the response is fast and realistic, during which more than 320 epidemic dispatches are handled, and nearly 10,000 other mass appeals are handled.

In order to implement the 12345 citizen service hotline 7× 24-hour duty response mechanism, and facilitate the rapid return to the unit to deal with the demands of the masses, Ai Dong has been renting a house near the unit. Since the Spring Festival, he has been rotating in the post with high intensity. Colleagues once advised him to pay attention to rest, he said: "The epidemic prevention and control situation is so severe, everyone is very hard, I am an old party member, and I am the person in charge, I do not go to anyone!" ”

On a Saturday, February 15, Ai Dong rushed to the unit as usual, just walked out of the house, suddenly fell to the ground, and was diagnosed with acute cerebral hemorrhage after being rushed to the hospital by relatives. For 6 days, the hospital tried its best to save his life.

Ai Dong's mother, Dong Cunmei, has been very strong after learning the bad news. But the moment he saw his son's body, he could no longer control himself, and he hugged his son and wept with sorrow.

Do a good job of serving the people --

This is a feeling rooted in the hero's heart

Ai Dong is notoriously acute, talking fast, walking fast, and doing things fast. Colleagues described him as working like stepping on a "hot wheel."

The work of "handling complaints as soon as they are received" is a "bridge of connecting hearts" between the masses of the people and the government, that is, to circle around the masses and run to problems. Ai Dong often said: "No matter how small the masses' affairs are, they are also big things, and the demands are whistles, and I am a people's policeman, so I must do a good job of serving the people." ”

The work of "handling complaints as soon as they are received" involves all aspects of public security work, with a wide variety of types, and has high requirements for the professional ability and policy level of specific undertakers. In order to ensure that the dispatch order is clearly classified, the transfer is accurate, and the reply complies with the laws and policies, Ai Dong strives to study the business of various police departments, and uses various opportunities to ask colleagues for advice, and everyone privately calls him "100,000 whys". In order to improve his professional literacy, he also used his two years of spare time to complete on-the-job postgraduate studies in law.

He insisted on regular classification and summary analysis of various appeals and problems in the work, and implemented "monthly notification, weekly comments, and daily analysis", which effectively promoted the overall improvement of the overall work of "receiving complaints and handling them".
