Cafu: Brazil can win the Copa America and the World Cup, and The Anglo-Portuguese can surprise at the European Cup

Brazilian legend Cafu, the most appearance of the national team, has expressed his views on the upcoming Copa America and the ongoing European Cup.

About the Copa America

When the Copa America opens, you don't feel that important, but when you don't win the title, you feel like it's the end of the world. The Brazilian national team has a huge responsibility and we give our all every time we play for the national team. The competition for the Copa America title is fierce, with each team bringing in the best players who want to beat the Brazilian national team.

About the confrontation with Argentina

It's different from Argentina, we respect each other, but neither team wants to lose the game under any circumstances. Brazil and Argentina are two great teams that are evenly matched on the pitch. But at club level, I've competed on the same pitch with a number of Argentine players, including Balbo, Crespo, Barty and Redondo. Barty is different from what a lot of people think, he's a lovely guy and loves Brazilians too. However, on the pitch he always defended the Argentine flag and we respect that.

On whether the Brazilian national team currently lacks leaders

The Brazilian national team has a generation of natural winners, including Juninho, Mauro Silva, Dunga, Bebeto, Blanco and Romario. Today, this Brazilian team is very experienced, with very good leaders such as Marchinhos, Thiago Silva, Neymar, Alisson and Casemiro. Such a team leader would certainly help Brazil dominate the field, and they are all leaders of big clubs abroad.

On whether the Brazilian national team can win the Copa America and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

Unlike everyone else, I'm very optimistic about that. I've always had faith and hope in my heart because I know what these lads think and how much they want to give back to society.

About the European Championship

Since I've played in Italy for 11 years, I'll cheer on Italy, but I think England and Portugal can create surprises.
